Charlie Hunnam‘s new series Shantaram is coming to an end after just one season.

The show premiered on Apple TV+ on October 14 and it was revealed that the show has been canceled just one day before the season one finale airs on December 16.

Shantaram followed a fugitive named Lin Ford (Hunnam) looking to get lost in vibrant and chaotic 1980s Bombay. Alone in an unfamiliar city, Lin struggles to avoid the trouble he’s running from in this new place. After falling for an enigmatic and intriguing woman named Karla, Lin must choose between freedom or love and the complications that come with it.

Episode 12 of season one will serve as the show’s series finale, according to Deadline.

Before it became a series on Apple TV+, the novel “Shantaram” was almost turned into a movie with Johnny Depp as the lead!
