Chris Hemsworth Says 'Extraction 2' Stunts Are 'A Lot More Extensive' Compared to Marvel Movies
Chris Hemsworth is dishing on the stunts in his new Netflix movie.
While promoting his new movie Extraction 2, the 39-year-old actor teased that the movie features “bigger, badder, more deadly, and more dangerous” action scenes and admitted that the stunts in this movie are way more intense than in Marvel movies.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Chris said that they “sort of went for the moon” with Extraction 2‘s action-packed stunts.
“In a very crowded world of action, I think we did something that’s very unique,” Chris said.
“Not to take anything away from the special-effects-filled sort of Marvel film, but you have a lot of help in post-production there,” Chris explained. “Obviously, I can’t fly, so they help through me that. Whereas in this film, the action is grounded in reality, and so much of it is in camera. So, it’s a different energy, and the preparation is a lot more extensive.”
Later in the interview, Chris teased a huge action scene in the movie, in which a helicopter lands a moving train.
“Probably the most intense part was not so much the exhaustion levels, but just the sheer terror of all the things that could have gone wrong, but thankfully didn’t,” Chris said.
Chris and director Sam Hargrave said that the scene took months of choreography, rehearsal, and tons of safety training.
Sam then recalled the “adrenaline rush” he got from filming that scene.
“I will never forget standing underneath that helicopter,” Sam said. “I was our camera operator for that moment, so I was filming. I could reach out with my hand, and I could have high-fived our pilot. It was amazing.”
Extraction 2 is expected to be released on Netflix some time in 2023.
Chris recently announced that he is going to take some time off of work after a revelation about his health.
