[ad_1]

Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam could have made his return in Ezra Miller’s The Flash movie.

Heroic Hollywood owner Umberto Gonzalez has revealed that Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions partner Hiram Garcia was approached about a potential Black Adam apperance in The Flash. Garcia is said to have politely turned down the offer after The Rock also passed on a Shazam! Fury of the Gods cameo.

Last night, Dwayne Johnson announced that Black Adam won’t be a part of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe plans, marking the end of his time as the character, at least for the time being. In a message shared on his official social media accounts, Johnson teased that Black Adam could come back at some point thanks to the storytelling opportunities of DC’s multiverse.

A recent report revealed that Warner Bros. Discovery already has a script for a potential sequel to The Flash, written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, the man behind the two Aquaman movies starring Jason Momoa. However, Ezra Miller has been making headlines over a string of arrests and criminal charges. The actor is seeking treatment for mental health issues.

James Gunn and Peter Safran are now in charge of DC’s film, television and animations efforts at Warner Bros. Discovery, bringing the company’s comic book-related assets under one roof. Gunn is said to be focusing on the creative direction of the DCU while Safran is handling things that are related to business and production.

Shazam! Fury of the GodsThe FlashBlue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom are currently in various stages of post-production at Warner Bros. Discovery, with all four DC Universe movies slated to hit theaters in 2023. Will the characters from those movies make appearances in the new DCU? Only Gunn and Safran know.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash is inspired by the Flashpoint comic book storyline, which followed Barry Allen as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles.

In addition to Ezra Miller, The Flash also features Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as two separate versions of Batman, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul and Sasha Calle as Supergirl. Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso and Luke Brandon Field are also on board in undisclosed roles.
