Fans are pointing out that Dwayne Johnson is ignoring Black Adam‘s HBO Max debut.

As of Monday morning, Dwayne Johnson hasn’t promoted the fact that Black Adam is now available on HBO Max. The movie made its debut on the streaming service this past Friday, following a disappointing run at the worldwide box office. It has so grossed around $390 million, with its budget and marketing costs, which are a mystery, being the subject of multiple online reports.

Twitter users have noticed that Johnson hasn’t said anything about the the HBO Max release of Black Adam, with a post about the matter bringing in more than 50K likes. Some users believe that Johnson is displeased with James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Studios hiring, as the two are currently working on a plan for the future of the DC Universe. It’s unclear if it involves Johnson.

Johnson’s future as Black Adam is currently in doubt, especially after Gunn announced that Henry Cavill is no longer attached to the role of Superman. Cavill was last seen as Superman in the post-credits scene of Black Adam.

Over the weekend, Johnson took to his official Twitter page to shut down reports that he unfollowed the social media accounts for Black Adam and Warner Bros. Discovery. “100% not true. Never followed either account on IG,” Johnson wrote on Twitter.

A recent article from The Hollywood Reporter called Henry Cavill “a pawn in [Johnson]’s failed attempt to control a piece of DC.” The Rock had his own plans for Superman, with the wrestler-turned-actor at one point teasing a showdown between the Man of Steel and his anti-hero Black Adam. Gunn is now looking for a younger actor to play Kal-El in the DC Universe.

On a more positive note, Black Adam has been dominating streaming charts for four weeks now. It’s the top-ranking tile on Fandango’s on-demand streaming service Vudu. It’s also number one on HBO Max, having recently knocked off Amsterdam, which held the spot for more than a week.

James Gunn and Peter Safran are now in charge of DC’s film, television and animations efforts at Warner Bros. Discovery, bringing the company’s comic book-related assets under one roof. Gunn is said to be focusing on the creative direction of the DCU while Safran is handling things that are related to business and production.

Shazam! Fury of the GodsThe FlashBlue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom are currently in various stages of post-production at Warner Bros. Discovery, with all four DC Universe movies slated to hit theaters in 2023. Will the characters from those movies make appearances in the new DCU? Only Gunn and Safran know.
