Production is currently underway in New York on HBO Max’s The Penguin, the long-awaited return of Colin Farrell’s Batman villain, and the first look at Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone surfaced online on Monday.

The daughter of the infamous Gotham mob boss Carmine Falcone, AKA “The Roman,” Sofia was created by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale. She made her first appearance in the pages of the critically-acclaimed DC Comics series Batman: The Long Halloween, which was published between 1996 and 1997. Loeb and Sale then brought her back for Batman: Dark Victory.

Cristin Milioti is the second actress to play Sofia Falcone after Crystal Reed, who brought the character to life in the FOX television series Gotham. Sofia was most recently seen in the two-part animated adaptation of Batman: The Long Halloween, voiced by Laila Berzins.

The Penguin is set in the same universe as The Batman and sees Colin Farrell reprising his role as the villainous Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot. Sofia Falcone’s father Carmine was one of the main antagonists of The Batman, with John Turturro playing the iconic DC Comics character.

Mare Of Easttown helmer Craig Zobel is directing the first two episodes of The Penguin, with Lauren LeFranc (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) overseeing the project as its writer and showrunner. Colin Farrell is an executive producer on the series alongside The Batman director Matt Reeves and producer Dylan Clark.
