Gwyneth Paltrow’s enormous childhood home in Santa Monica hits the market for $17.5 MILLION

Gwyneth Paltrow‘s spectacular childhood home in Santa Monica, California, has hit the market for $17.5 million and comes complete with a pool and three-car showroom. 

The Goop founder’s parents, actress Blythe Danner and the late Bruce Paltrow, a Hollywood director and producer, purchased the storied property in 1976 when she was about four years old. 

Built in 1913, the nearly 7,000 square-foot mansion is nestled in Santa Monica’s upscale Gillette Regent Square neighborhood and boasts six bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms.

Gwyneth was about four years old when her parents, actress Blythe Danner and the late Bruce Paltrow, a Hollywood director and producer, purchased the property in 1976

Property records show the home was sold in 2006, four years after Gwyneth’s father died from complications of oral cancer and pneumonia.

Designer Jerome Dahan, founder of the denim brands Citizens of Humanity and 7 for All Mankind, purchased the home in 2008.  

The sprawling mansion is currently listed with Robert Lawrence Edie of Compass. 

Aside from its history of influential owners and highly-coveted address on Georgina Avenue, the home offers the luxury of sitting on an extra-large double lot that is just under half an acre.

She was 12 when her family moved from their California mansion to a townhouse on New York City’s Upper East Side in 1984. She graduated high school from The Spence School, an elite Manhattan private school for girls. 

The Academy Award winner now lives on the West Coast full-time with her husband, Brad Falchuk, 51, and children, Apple, 18, and Moses, 16, whom she shares with her ex, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

Earlier this year, Gwyneth gave Architectural Digest a tour of the ‘forever house’ she built in Montecito, California, where she counts the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as neighbors. 

The lifestyle guru and her TV producer husband reportedly purchased the home for almost $5 million in 2016.

They began extensive renovations on the property, which now includes its own spa with a pricy shower system, a hot tub, and a plunge pool. 

Gwyneth shared that she uses the spa ‘every day’ while gushing about how much she loves her dream house. 

”I can’t believe this is our home,’ she said. ‘It’s so fun.’
