Jennifer Beals Pays Tribute To ‘Flashdance’ Singer Irene Cara Following Her Death

Over the weekend, it was sadly announced that Irene Cara had passed away at the age of 63.

Jennifer Beals, who starred in Flashdance, is paying tribute to the late singer on social media.

If you’re unaware, Irene performed the iconic theme song to Flashdance, “Flashdance… What a Feeling”.

Jennifer took to her Instagram to share moving tribute to Irene, with a throwback picture of them at the Oscars.

“Flashdance…What A Feeling” won the 1984 Oscar for Best Original Song.

“Thank you brilliant Irene for your open heart and your fearless triple threat talent,” Jennifer wrote on her platform. “It took a beautiful dreamer to write and perform the soundtracks for those who dare to dream,” she wrote, adding the hashtag, “#RIPIreneCara.”

Irene‘s cause of death is currently unknown, but it will be released when information is available, her rep shared.
