‘Mindhunter’ Officially Over at Netflix, David Fincher Confirms

Mindhunter will not be returning for a third season at Netflix.

The series, which starred Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany and Anna Torv, centered on two FBI agents who attempted to understand and catch serial killers by studying their damaged psyches.

According to series director and producer David Fincher, the series is officially over.

Speaking to French outlet Le Journal du Dimanche, David reportedly shared that there wasn’t room for the series at the streamer.

“I’m very proud of the first two seasons. But it’s a very expensive show and, in the eyes of Netflix, we didn’t attract enough of an audience to justify such an investment [for Season 3],” he shared, via TV Line.

David went on, explaining that he understood Netflix’s reasons.

“They took risks to get the show off the ground…It’s a blessing to be able to work with people who are capable of boldness. The day our desires are not the same, we have to be honest about parting ways.”
