1923’s Jack Dutton Actor Explains His Character’s Desire For Revenge

[ad_1]

1923’s Jack Dutton actor, Darren Mann, explains his character’s desire for revenge against Banner Creighton after the show’s season 1 finale.

1923 star Darren Mann explains Jack Dutton’s desire for revenge against Banner Creighton. In the Yellowstone prequel, Banner (Jerome Flynn) and the sheepherders were a constant threat to Jacob’s (Harrison Ford) family. Over issues of land and where his flock grazed, many of Banner’s men were killed. To counter, Banner led an attack, during which Elizabeth (Michelle Randolph) got shot, and Jack’s father died. Despite getting arrested, Banner’s relationship with Donald Whitfield (Timothy Dalton) and the lack of evidence surrounding the attack led to his release in the finale, suggesting that the war between him and the Duttons will continue in 1923 season 2.

In a recent interview with Insider, Mann said that his character wants to get revenge against the sheepherder. However, the 1923 actor noted because Jacob is running the ranch, he might have to wait for it. Read Mann’s comments regarding the possibility of Jack getting revenge below:

Sitting back is driving him nuts a little bit, he’s itching to get back at Banner. Especially when he makes a remark like that about Elizabeth and what we’ve been through… Jack is just waiting to get his sweet revenge. He’s been wanting to go back after him for a long time, but he’s not in charge at this time, right? So he’s gotta listen to Jacob, but I think the whole time Jack has been vying to go back and get revenge.

Following his release, Banner was encouraged not to engage with Jacob, but he still made a series of comments. Losing his temper, Jack attempted to stand up to him but was teased over Elizabeth’s injury. Banner wanted the Duttons dead, but Donald informed him of another way to take control of the ranch, eventually revealing he paid Jacob’s taxes, making the property his if the money is not returned.

Even after Banner’s earlier attack on the Duttons, he continued to target those from the ranch, as one of his men alerted the law of Zane’s (Brian Geraghty) marriage to Alice (Joy Osmanski), which resulted in the latter’s arrest. When it comes to Jack, he remains close to Elizabeth, despite losing their baby, and was prepared to defend his home when Donald appeared. Jacob already told his great-nephew that he would run the ranch one day, but with the conflict escalating, his fate is left unclear if he decides to take action in season 2.

Banner made multiple efforts against the Duttons, but taking revenge might not guarantee things will get better. If Spencer Dutton (Brandon Sklenar) returns to Montana, the events leave questions about what he does about the current situation. Whether Jack or any of the Duttons retaliate remains to be seen, but as 1923 continues, the family will likely keep their land.
