90 Day Fiancé: Why Mike & Ximena Are So Frustrating To Viewers

Viewers have grown frustrated with Mike Berk and Ximena Morales because both are dislikable and sympathetic, leaving fans with no one to root for.

With many 90 Day Fiancé couples it’s easy for viewers to pick a side, but Mike Berk and Ximena Morales of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days have fans going back and forth on who’s worse and it’s leaving them frustrated. Though neither one of the two have been entirely justified in their actions, they also didn’t exactly deserve what the other did to them, and that dichotomy is irritating to viewers who prefer being able to support at least half of a franchise couple.

The couple’s relationship is in a precarious position, and both stars are facing intense criticism. On the show, Ximena has admitted to Mike that she no longer loves him, and Mike’s friends are imploring him to cut his losses, dump Ximena, and head home. However, Mike still wants to see if he can salvage the relationship. Off the show, there has been a lot of speculation about whether the couple is still together after filming season 5, though viewers won’t know for sure until the Tell All. But many are growing tired of Mike and Ximena and how annoying their storyline on and off the show has been.

Fans criticize Mike for being  a typical “nice guy” who thinks that being a decent person entitles him to a hot girlfriend. He has very little to offer a partner, disgusting habits, and virtually no sense of independence in a relationship. However, Mike did spend a lot of money supporting Ximena and invested significant time and emotional energy as well. If Ximena really wasn’t interested, she should have said so. But at the same time, though Ximena may have used Mike, she made her feelings pretty obvious, and many viewers think if Mike didn’t see the writing on the wall, that’s on him.

Off-screen the couple has been even more infuriating. Mike has been busted for offensive social media activity that he hasn’t addressed yet, and fans have been calling for him to get fired and edited out of the show. Ximena has also made claims that Mike was physically and emotionally abusive. However, there has also been evidence that Ximena cheated on Mike and was extremely manipulative. All this information just leaves fans frustrated. Both Mike and Ximena seems to have been used by the other in one way or another, so fans naturally want to support who they feel is the victim, but neither Mike nor Ximena are completely clean and without fault. So, even those fans who have sympathy for one or the other still can’t fully support them.

There have been a lot of unlikable couples in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, but few have been as frustrating as Mike and Ximena. Both of them are victims and both are perpetrators, and it has viewers flip-flopping on the topic of which one is worse. There’s no one to really root for with this couple, and many fans are fed up with them.
