Ant-Man & the Wasp Quantumania Reactions: A Good Start To Phase 5

[ad_1]

The first Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania social media reactions are in, with many touting it as the best installment of the MCU sub-franchise.

On the heels of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘s premiere, social media reactions have surfaced and critics are praising the Peyton Reed threequel for its storytelling, with a special mention of Jonathan Majors’ performance as Kang the Conqueror. Marvel Studios will kick off Phase 5 with the third installment of Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man sub-franchise, but unlike its predecessors, the trilogy-capper is significantly bigger in terms of scope and stakes. Dubbed as peak MCU as Kevin Feige himself, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is expected to play an important role in the MCU’s Multiverse Saga.

Ahead of its global release, social media reactions to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania have come out giving the public an idea of what to expect from the film. Based on the reactions, it seems the film is a fitting introduction to Phase 5, with a special mention to Majors’ portrayal of Kang. Read the tweets below:

Majors’ Kang is obviously the standout of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and that’s good news considering he is tipped to be a major part of the Multiverse Saga as its big bad. If Marvel Studios is able to present him as this menacing threat in a usually lighthearted franchise like Ant-Man, then his eventual face-off with the Avengers will definitely be interesting.

What Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Means For The Multiverse Saga

Amid praises for the film and Majors, another interesting comment mentions how the film delves into the concept of variants and the multiverse. Both ideas were first explored in Loki season 1, and considering Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘s exploration of the Quantum Realm, it makes sense that the movie also tackles these elements. That being said, it’s curious if the comment is meant to suggest Marvel Studios once again fell into the trap of being fixated on setting up the future of the Multiverse Saga, resulting in a packed film just like what happened with Iron Man 2 and even Avengers: Age of Ultron.

For what it’s worth, considering how much more complicated the Multiverse Saga is compared to the Infinity Saga, Marvel Studios needs more time to lay the foundations of its culmination. Not every upcoming project deals heavily with the concept of the multiverse, so it’s understandable that they would be inclined to tackle it heavily in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Hopefully, however, it doesn’t overshadow the relationships within Team Ant-Man, especially since this is likely the last solo film for the group.

Overall, it does sound like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a good start to MCU’s Phase 5. Despite some criticisms, it seems like it’s a solid addition to the franchise. No matter how it ends, it’s going to pave the way for what comes next in the Multiverse Saga, not just for Kang the Conqueror but for Team Ant-Man as well.
