Assassin’s Creed Hexe Rumors Hint It’s The Most Exciting New AC Game

[ad_1]

Assassin’s Creed Hexe is rumored to put a terrifying spin on the open-world historical franchise, and the project apparently looks very promising.

Rumors suggest that the mysterious Assassin’s Creed Hexe could be the franchise’s most exciting new project and will soon enter full production. Ubisoft’s open-world franchise has brought players to a variety of historical locations, ranging from the Italian Renaissance to Ancient Egypt. While little is known about the setting or story of Assassin’s Creed Hexe, the game may prove to be a fresh start for the aging series.

A report from Insider Gaming suggests that the horror game Assassin’s Creed Hexe is receiving overwhelmingly positive reception during its proof-of-concept stage. Not much is publicly known about the project, other than its unique game structure compared to past entries in the franchise. Rumors delve much deeper, indicating that Assassin’s Creed Hexe will be the series’ foray into survival horror and may take place during historic witch hunts in Central Europe. Insider Gaming reports that the game could enter full production soon, though an estimated release date is currently unknown.

Assassin’s Creed Hexe Can Breathe New Life Into The Series

While a survival horror game like Assassin’s Creed Hexe would be a truly unique direction for the series, past entries have already dabbled with intense or even scary content. This horror atmosphere mainly comes in the form of Assassin’s Creed’s scariest monsters, which made their way into the franchise’s RPG installments like Odyssey and Valhalla. These games leaned more into mythology and fantasy than previous titles had, with players facing off against truly monstrous foes like cyclops, minotaurs and werewolf-like Puca. Assassin’s Creed Hexe could build upon this foundation to create a truly intense experience, with the player being stalked through real-world locations by fantastic creatures like werewolves or witches.

Hexe may be the most exciting Assassin’s Creed installment currently in the works, but there are multiple other projects set to arrive first. Next year will see the launch of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which will return to the franchise’s roots of social stealth and parkour traversal. Various additional projects were announced during an Assassin’s Creed showcase back in September, including a Feudal Japan RPG called Codename Red and a mobile game set in Ancient China called Codename Jade. With all of these projects currently in the works, its seems unlikely that Assassin’s Creed Hexe will launch any time soon.

There are multiple unique Assassin’s Creed games currently in development, but Assassin’s Creed Hexe is shaping up to be the most exciting and unique. Rumored to be a historical survival horror game, the title is apparently enjoying positive reception as a proof-of-concept and will soon enter full production. Fans may be waiting years before they get their hands on Assassin’s Creed Hexe, but a creepy open-world witch hunt might be worth the wait.
