Assassin’s Creed Mirage Release Window May Have Just Leaked

[ad_1]

The upcoming Assassin’s Creed Mirage may have just had a more specific release date leak, with its current official window being sometime in 2023.

A more specific 2023 release date for Assassin’s Creed Mirage may have just leaked, sources claim. The game aims to be a return to form for the Assassin’s Creed series, with a larger narrative focus and a concerted effort to distance itself from the broader RPG mechanics of recent titles. Mirage stars Basim Ibn Ishaq, a character first introduced in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and has a current official release window of 2023.

A new report from Insider Gaming makes claims of a more specific release date for Assassin’s Creed Mirage and its historical Baghdad setting. The article states that the game will release in August 2023, offering a disclaimer that this date is still subject to change. Insider Gaming notes that the release date is later than originally planned, claiming that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is already facing multiple delays in its development process.

It’s always good for players to take any video game leaks with a grain of salt, but this is especially true when they have to do with release dates for games from Ubisoft. The developer is notorious for having frequent delays with its titles; for example, despite reports earlier this year that a release date for Skull & Bones was close, the game has now been delayed for a fifth time. Considering the detailed effort Ubisoft has claimed to be putting into Assassin’s Creed Mirage, a delay for the game certainly isn’t out of the question.

Reports that Mirage has already been internally delayed a few times unfortunately aren’t surprising for an Ubisoft title. However, in the long run these delays can be better for both developers and players. It’s far more preferable that a title as highly-anticipated as Assassin’s Creed Mirage be released in a state that feels complete and bug free, and that it reaches its best form without developers being subjected to crunch.

With its return-to-roots focus, Assassin’s Creed Mirage admits past titles’ flaws, acknowledging that the recent direction of the series hasn’t necessarily been what’s best for fans. If Mirage is truly going to bring the franchise into greatness again, it needs ample time to reach its full potential. While an August release date would be great news for fans, with no official statement from Ubisoft it’s possible the developer is holding off setting a firm release date until the game is closer to being complete. Whether the title releases in August or later in 2023, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is one of the most promising games the series has seen in a long time, and will hopefully be worth the wait.
