Cancelled Netflix Show Fan Campaign Goes International With New Billboards

[ad_1]

Fan efforts to save cancelled Netflix series Warrior Nun become international as three new billboards are set to go up in London for the campaign.

Warrior Nun fans campaigning to save the series after it was cancelled by Netflix have taken their efforts international with three new billboards. The fantasy action series was axed by Netflix in December 2022, leading to massive fan efforts to get the series revived, either at Netflix or with a different streaming service. One key element of their campaign to save the show is billboards, one in New York City, and another in Los Angeles, California across from Netflix’s headquarters. Both ads display “#SaveWarriorNun” in an effort to spread the word about the series and the fight to save it.

As revealed by a Twitter user named Sarah B, Warrior Nun fans have begun funding billboards overseas as well, with three new advertisements for the #SaveWarriorNun campaign set to go up in London in the coming days. One billboard is already up until March 10, while the other two will appear from February 20 through March 18. Check out the details provided for the billboards, as well as a few fan responses to the announcement, below:

What Warrior Nun Season 3 Could Explore (If It Happens)

Ava from Warrior Nun Season 1 Episode 6

The strong fan backlash against Warrior Nun‘s cancelation underscores how dedicated people who enjoy the show are, and how much they are willing to do to try and bring the show back to life. Warrior Nun season 2 left many doors open, including the expansion of Reya’s dimension in future episodes. The final episode sees a mortally-wounded Ava go through the Arc, a portal into Reya’s dimension, which seems reminiscent of Christianity’s interpretation of Hell. With the show’s protagonist now in a dimension where time moves faster than on Earth, it’s unclear if Ava will ever return and how it may come about if she does.

Warrior Nun season 2 was also building toward a queer relationship between Ava and Beatrice, a nun within the Order of the Cruciform Sword. While the pair were able to confess their love for one another before Ava left, the romantic feelings they hold for one another weren’t explored further. If Warrior Nun season 3 were to come about, Ava and Beatrice’s relationship could blossom, adding a new level of representation to the series.

The dedication of Warrior Nun fans to getting the series revived for a season 3 shows that they want Ava’s fate revealed, Reya’s dimension explored, and the protagonist’s budding relationship to be expanded upon. With three new billboards now ready to spread their message to London, it doesn’t seem like the #SaveWarriorNun campaign will be over any time soon. Warrior Nun fans may just get their wish of a season 3 some time in the future.
