Daredevil: Born Again First Set Video Confirms Filming Has Started

[ad_1]

The first Daredevil: Born Again set video confirms the highly anticipated series has started filming. Charlie Cox finally gets to lead his own Marvel Cinematic Universe project with Daredevil: Born Again, after returning to the role with a cameo in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home and then appearing as Jennifer Walters’ love interest in two episodes of the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law last year. While the plot for Daredevil: Born Again is being kept under wraps, details should start to emerge as set videos become public.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

News 12 The Bronx shared the first set video from Daredevil: Born Again, confirming that filming has started on the series.

The MCU’s Daredevil: Born Again is said to have a great focus on the character’s background as a lawyer, with leading man Cox excited about the series going deeper into Matt Murdock’s life when he is not jumping through New York City’s rooftops. Daredevil: Born Again‘s whooping 18 episodes, which doubles the longest Disney+ series so far, plays a part in Marvel having the ability to balance both sides of Daredevil’s life better than the Netflix series did.

What To Expect From Daredevil: Born Again

Jon Bernthal's Punisher and Charlie Cox's Daredevil battle bad guys in costume

Daredevil: Born Again has 18 episodes, a tall order that shows just how much confidence Kevin Feige and the team at Marvel Studios have in Cox going forward. The Netflix Marvel Defenders shows were full of crossovers between Daredevil and the other small-screen heroes. Now, with the new show firmly set in the MCU, Matt Murdock has been confirmed as one of the pillars of the MCU’s street-level heroes, along with Spider-Man, and that is going to play into Daredevil: Born Again.

News just broke that Jon Bernthal will be reprising his role as Frank Castle/The Punisher from the Netflix universe of Marvel shows in the MCU’s Daredevil: Born Again. After debuting in Daredevil season 2, The Punisher had a great arc, going from a broken man in pursuit of revenge to a recovering family man in charge of protecting a young woman. The Punisher season 2’s wasted potential, with its very final scene teasing that a fully realized version of The Punisher for the wide Marvel universe was ripe for the screen, seems finally about to be capitalized by Marvel Studios.

Cox has shared his interest in seeing Daredevil: Born Again feature cameos from other MCU heroes, and Feige himself has teased that surprise characters will be in store. With their already established connection in the MCU, it is possible that Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk will appear in the series. Matt Murdock will need all the help he can get to face Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk, who is now back in power and mad for having been shot in the face, although Kingpin has survived Hawkeye‘s ending. Daredevil: Born Again, however, might not feature Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, sadly.
