DC Accidentally Spoils Huge Justice League Change After Dark Crisis

[ad_1]

With just a week left to go before Dark Crisis on Infinite Earth’s finale, DC has revealed what will become of the Justice League in its conclusion.

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths, Batman vs. Robin, and Lazarus Planet! It looks like the fate of the Justice League in the wake of Dark Crisis on Infinite Universes has already been revealed. A preview for Lazarus Planet: Alpha #1 features Damian Wayne confirming the status of DC’s premier superhero team, and the news isn’t good.

Dark Crisis on Infinite Universes has put the iconic superhero team through the wringer. Pariah, a once noble figure who aided in the fight against the Anti-Monitor, became corrupted and plotted to bring back the infinite structure of DC’s multiverse. To do so, the villainous Pariah used a machine to ‘kill’ the Justice League, though he actually imprisoned them on their own worlds to siphon their power. In the League’s absence, heroes have risen to replace them, but Pariah’s army has proven to be quite resilient. Thankfully, the League has been freed of their prisons and aim to stop Pariah as Dark Crisis heads towards a dramatic finale.

However, it seems that the League’s fate following Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths has already been revealed. In a sneak peek at Lazarus Planet: Alpha #1 by Mark Waid and Riccardo Federici, the planet is in the middle of a worldwide maelstrom. Following Batman vs. Robin, a Lazarus Volcano has exploded and a strange, magical storm is covering the Earth. Damian, along with Talia al Ghul, Black Alice, and Batman, are fleeing Lazarus Island. As devastation rains across the globe, Supergirl puts out a message asking for any and all available heroes to report to the Hall of Justice. Damian and his crew make a crash landing where the Robin sees the heroes that have responded to Supergirl’s message. He expresses disappointment since the Justice League has disbanded and most of the team’s heavy-hitters are off on their own.

Dark Crisis Is Breaking Up The Justice League?

Justice League Dark Crisis Spoilers DC Comics

It’s been known that Dark Crisis on Infinite Universes takes place before the events of Batman vs. Robin, with even DC editor Paul Kaminski clarifying the storylines’ order on Twitter. While the two events have largely kept to themselves during their runs, this is a pretty major reveal for Dark Crisis. And it stings all the more knowing that the final issue of the epic story is only days away. But with Lazarus Planet starting soon, it seems DC had no choice but to wind up spoiling the Justice League’s fate.

Fans who have been paying attention to DC’s upcoming solicits are well aware of the Dawn of DC initiative that will be following the events of Lazarus Planet. Among the many titles announced, a series involving the Justice League was curiously absent, leading to speculation on what will happen to the team. And while it doesn’t appear that there will be many devastating reasons, it seems that Dark Crisis ends with the League taking a break after Pariah’s assault on the DC Universe. How long will their hiatus last? Fans will have to read DC’s Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths and Lazarus Planet series to find out the ultimate fate of the Justice League.
