The Crown star Emma Corrin has been cast as the villain of Deadpool 3, and a rumor about which role they could be playing has been swiftly debunked.

Deadpool 3 has reportedly found its lead villain in the form of The Crown breakout star Emma Corrin, but a rumor on the antagonist’s identity has been shot down. Deadpool 3 will be the first movie of the franchise in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige supervising work on Deadpool 3, which stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Corrin has reportedly been cast as the movie’s main villain, with one rumor claiming who that villain might be picking up some steam.

However, Deadline journalist Justin Kroll has swiftly debunked the rumor of Corrin playing Danger in Deadpool 3.

The origin of X-Men’s Danger’s powers is simple, the character is a sentient being made from the technology of the X-Men’s Danger Room, similarly to the relation between J.A.R.V.I.S. and the android Vision in the MCU. While Corrin will not be playing X-Men’s Danger in Deadpool 3, there is one interesting character the actor could play.

Who Could Emma Corrin Play In Deadpool 3?

Deadpool 3 Casts Villain Emma Corrin

What characters and story beats are involved in Deadpool 3 are currently being kept under wraps by Marvel Studios, but rumors surrounding the movie have hinted at a possible exploration of Fox’s X-Men universe, which is why the rumor of Corrin playing Danger made sense in the first place. As Deadpool 3 delves into the MCU multiverse, with Deadpool set to join the main universe at some point in the film, Corrin could actually be playing a villain that has direct ties to both Deadpool and the multiverse in the pages of Marvel Comics.

The MCU is currently exploring its Multiverse Saga, which has seen both the introduction of new heroes that are not part of the main MCU Earth — such as John Krasinski’s Reed Richards and Anson Mount’s Black Bolt — as well as variants from beloved MCU heroes, namely Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s versions of Spider-Man, as well as Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie, the female Loki. Corrin could play the multiverse villain Lady Deadpool in Deadpool 3. If Lady Deadpool were to ever be introduced in the MCU, there would never be a more fitting time to do so than in the middle of the Multiverse Saga with Deadpool 3.

The Marvel Comics character, aptly named Wanda Wilson, is one of several multiverse versions of Deadpool that make up the Deadpool Corps. The team of Deadpool variants and Lady Deadpool herself aren’t villains in the comics, though there is an evil version of the team. That form of the team could fit into the MCU, giving Reynolds’ character an encounter he would never expect — fighting an army of his different selves. If Corrin were to play Lady Deadpool, then Deadpool 3 could fulfill Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘ potential and be an even better multiversal story.
