50+ HD Images from Denis Villeneuve’s Dune show off high-res looks at Timothee Chalamet, Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgard and more from the adaptation.

Over 50 HD images have been released for director Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of Dune. This is the first full adaptation of Frank Herbert’s novel since the 2000 SyFy channel version and the 1984 David Lynch film. Villeneuve has rounded up a massive cast for the film, including Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atreides, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto Atreides, Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Dave Bautista as Beast Rabban, Zendaya as Chani and Stellen Skarsgard as Baron Harkonnen. The sprawling epic from the visionary filmmaker is the first half of the book, with the second expected to film depending on the success of this one.

Focusing on the struggle of control over the spice Melange, which exists only on the Planet Arrakis (aka Dune), two houses battle each other gain the upper hand, while a young nobleman finds that his destiny is deeply intertwined with the fight. Villeneuve previously directed the sci-fi sequel Blade Runner 2049, which was critically lauded, but suffered at the box office. Despite that, WB has put their full faith in the filmmaker’s vision for the dense adaptation, and anticipation is high for viewers to see the result.

Today, WB released over 50 High-Res images from the film, many of which have been seen, while a few have not. Some images herald from the trailers for the film, while some are stills that have been released in various publications, but now available in full HD without watermarks. Some of the more notable images feature a closer look at Baron Harkonnen, as well as detailed views of the landscapes, costumes and characters that fill this beloved tale. Take a look at the images below:

Villeneuve is optimistic about being able to film the second half of his film, knowing that WB is behind him. The film is about to premiere at the 78th Venice International Film Festival and will likely generate some buzz once those audiences share their thoughts. Star Josh Brolin, who screened the film when it was done, says that that he was “blown away” and that Villenueve’s vision is a “masterpiece.”

The hype continues to build for Dune, making it one of, if not the, movie to see this Fall. The star power alone is a massive draw, but the deep roots of Herbert’s novel also help to draw fans in. Since its publication in 1965, Dune has become a sought after property to adapt, with many different attempts being made, some successful, some not. With such a detailed and rich universe, Herbert’s storytelling has the potential to reach the same heights as Star Wars or The Lord of the Rings, but that will ultimately fall to audience reception upon release. Either way, the anticipation is high to see what Villeneuve has constructed.
