Eternals stars take to social media and share their love for each other, reminding fans of how awesome the cast was. Directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker of Nomadland, Chloé Zhao, the superhero ensemble film featured an all-star cast as immortal protectors of Earth including comedian Kumail Nanjiani as the hero-turned-Bollywood star Kingo and The Batman Joker actor Barry Keoghan as the manipulative Druig. Unfortunately, Eternals‘ A-list cast could not save it from poor reception from both critics and audiences alike, resulting in a paltry 47% on Rotten Tomatoes, the lowest rating of any Marvel Cinematic Universe film in its history.

Nanjiani recently took to Twitter to share his love for Keoghan as Dominic Kearney in Martin McDonagh’s latest black comedy, The Banshees of Inisherin, calling Keoghan’s work his “favorite performance of the year.” In response, Keoghan thanked his costar with a heartfelt message. What Could Be Next For The Eternals In The MCU

The conclusion of Eternals saw the group defeat the Deviants, their arch-enemies for thousands of years. However, they learn that the Earth has been used by the Celestials as an egg for the birth of another of their kind and that the Eternals were merely the caretakers of the planet to ensure the new being was born. However, the Eternals go against their directive and stop the Celetisal Tiamut birth’s to save Earth. The Celestial Arishem then selected several Eternals to be judged and transported off-world and into space.

Although Zhao has previously said she was open to returning for another entry into the franchise, there has been no confirmation that a sequel is in development. Patton Oswalt, the actor who portrayed Pip the Troll in the film’s post-credits sequence, previously revealed that he had heard a sequel was definitely in production. However, Nanjiani claimed that Oswalt was the victim of false information online and that there is no Eternals sequel in the works yet.

With the MCU’s slate of film and television projects vast and scheduled to at least 2026, there are plenty of chances for the Eternals to return to the shared universe. With Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania promising the introduction of the mulitiverse threat, Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), the upcoming Avengers films appear to be a logical choice for their inclusion as the Earth-based superhero team will need all the help they can get to defeat Kang. However, barring an announcement from Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios, audiences will have to be patient to see when or if the Eternals will return.
