Goat Simulator 3 Multiplayer Guide: How to Play with Friends
Goat Simulator 3 introduces online multiplayer gameplay and local co-op gameplay in a split-screen mode so that players can enjoy the pandemonium with friends nearby or far away. Players can wreak havoc across San Angora as a team or compete against each other in a variety of minigames. Up to three additional players can be added to a team making up a party of four, quadrupling the chaos.
Online multiplayer is not available at the same time while playing local co-op, so players must choose to either play online with friends or with friends in person, not both. Crossplay is not currently supported, making online multiplayer limited to a particular platform. Goat Simulator 3 is currently available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Microsoft Windows. When playing within the open world during multiplayer mode, all progress made on the goat castle will only benefit the host player, meaning online friends will not make progress on their own castle. However, any quests completed will be saved, so players can still be productive toward goals while playing with friends.
Multiplayer Minigames in Goat Simulator 3
There are seven minigames players can compete in, which can be played anywhere on the map after unlocking them, granting players the opportunity to get creative with the terrain during games. The minigames include The Floor is Lava where players must avoid the rising lava by jumping on anything they can reach and the hide-and-seek favorite, Prop Hunt. Head Splat may remind some players of Nintendo’s Splatoon 3, where headbutting paints the environment, and the player with the most points wins. Other games include King of the Hill, Prop Golf, Hoofball, and Car Derby.
Playing online and local co-op is simple to navigate. When playing online with friends, players will scroll down on the main menu and click the Friends button. Selecting an added friend and clicking “invite” will allow the invitee to join the game. Players can also add friends to join using the system menus depending on the console.
To add friends locally, each person playing will need a controller. Turn on the controllers and hold either the square button for Playstation players or the X button for Xbox players. Local players have the option to sign in to an already-created account, although it’s not necessary. Regardless of how players choose to conduct their mayhem, whether it’s solo or multiplayer with friends online or locally, Goat Simulator 3 is great chaotic fun.
