GTFO: How to Play with Friends

[ad_1]

There is no matchmaking in GTFO, so to play with friends, players will need to set up their matches by communicating on Steam or Discord.

In order to play GTFO with friends, players will need to connect with others via Steam or Discord. Unfortunately, there is no matchmaking system currently in place for GTFO, which recently left early access, although it is supposed to be added to the game at a later date. For now, players have found workarounds for playing online with friends, and there are two different methods they can use.

GTFO offers players a thrilling horror experience as they fight through a world of nightmarish, deadly encounters. The game relies heavily on teamwork, so players will likely want to coordinate with their friends to get online together and fight for survival. In order to do so, players will need to connect with each other outside of GTFO and set up matches manually by inviting others to their team or joining an existing lobby.

The first way to invite friends to a game in GTFO is through Steam. Players can use a game invite on Steam to connect with their friends and start playing right away. For players that may not have a full group to play with or want to find open GTFO lobbies, they can head over to the GTFO Discord channel and find a game. Players can also host a game on Discord and use one of the available voice channels to coordinate with other players.

In order to send an invite on Steam, players need to log in to their Steam account and have the people they’re looking to play with added as friends. Then players can select the option to create an invite link and send it to any friends they want to add to their game. If players want to connect with people who aren’t added as friends on Steam or find others hosting a GTFO game, they can create and find lobbies on Discord.

To connect with people on Discord, players can head over to the official channel to look for a lobby or host their own game. To host a game, players will need to copy their lobby ID from GTFO, which appears in the top right corner. Players can copy the posted lobby ID from Discord, then select connect to Rundown in GTFO and enter the ID to join another person’s game. Players can also use voice chat in Discord to communicate while the match is ongoing.

Playing cooperatively in GTFO makes it easier to survive the onslaught of nightmarish enemies that are constantly attacking. Having a solid strategy and communicating where to go as a team will help players survive longer in GTFO. Whether inviting friends on Steam or using Discord to enter or host a game, players should be ready to use a voice chat outside of the game to communicate. Matchmaking should be coming to GTFO at some point in the future, but players can use Steam or Discord until then to play with friends.
