Hasbro Is Making A 1:1 Scale, Screen-Accurate Ghostbusters Proton Pack

[ad_1]

Hasbro is offering Ghostbusters fans the opportunity to own their own replica of Egon Spengler’s ghost-catching devices through their Haslab program.

Hasbro is making a screen-accurate Ghostbusters Proton Pack. The 1:1 scale prop is a replica of the gear that was originally wielded by the team in Ivan Reitman’s 1984 supernatural comedy classic. Hasbro has launched the campaign ahead of the release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

Wielded by Spengler, Peter Venkmen (Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), and Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson), the nuclear-powered Proton Packs use their streams of positively charged ions to ensnare a ghost and prep them for capture. A device just as iconic as the stars, the Ecto-1 vehicle, and the green goo-ghost Slimer, the Proton Pack is an distinguished piece of Ghostbusters iconography that has made its way into every incarnation, with fans paying attention to every little detail, including where the Proton Pack’s on-switch may be. And now, Hasbro has made the ghost-busting gear available to own.

Through their Haslab crowdfunding platform on Hasbro Pulse, Hasbro is running a campaign to produce 1:1 scale replicas of the latest film’s Proton Pack as part of their Plasma Series line, with the campaign running from October 27th to December 12th for $399.99. If funded by 7,000 backers, the replica will feature accurate details, light, sounds, and a moving motor. The device has two modes of play based upon the original film and Afterlife, and is compatible with the previously released Plasma Series Spengler Neutrona Wand. The campaign has four yet unknown stretch goals, with 9,000 backers unlocking The Classic Bundle, 11,000 unlocking The Ghostbusters: Afterlife Bundle, 13,000 backers unlocking The Spengler Special, and 15,000 unlocking The Supernatural Stand. Hasbro Pulse Premium Members also have the opportunity to get an additional perk that gives the device a “slimed” look for backing in the first 48 hours. It is scheduled for a Spring 2023 release if backed. Check out the images below:

Following the Haslab Black Series Rancor from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, the Proton Pack is the latest project to be offered through the Haslab platform. The platform allows fans to fund projects that would be considered too large for regular retail through limited-time campaigns, offering a number of perks should they achieve the minimum number of backers. The Haslab platform has also been used to produce pieces such as a large-scale figure of Unicron from the Transformers franchise, Jabba’s Sail Barge for Hasbro’s Star Wars: The Vintage Collection line, and large-scale figures of the mutant-hunting Sentinels and planet-devouring Galactus for their 6-inch Marvel Legends line based on Marvel Comics.

With Ghostbusters: Afterlife set to release on November 18th, Hasbro has picked a perfect time to launch this latest campaign. Fans of the franchise have long-awaited an opportunity to own the device, while those brought in by the new film will still have time to support the campaign after seeing it. With hopes that Ghostbusters: Afterlife will bring life to the franchise, the original Ghostbusters has remained an iconic piece of ’80s pop culture, and now fans have a chance to own part of the iconography if the project gets backed.
