Hogwarts Legacy: Cache in the Castle Quest Guide
Arthur Plummly asks Hogwarts Legacy players to complete the Cache in the Castle quest within the school. To do it, they’ll need to follow his map.
Players can take on the Cache in the Castle quest from Arthur Plummly in Hogwarts Legacy, but they must follow Arthur’s map to reap the rewards. The map illustrates four landmarks within Hogwarts and will eventually lead to an undisclosed hidden treasure. Beginning in the Astronomy Wing, treasure seekers must locate each of the four landmarks on Arthur’s map and use the right spell to access the treasure. Upon completing the quest, players get to keep the treasure they have found and gain XP to level up.
The Cache in the Castle quest requires players to carefully locate each landmark depicted on Arthur’s map, encouraging them to explore the school grounds. There is much to see at Hogwarts, with paintings and monuments at every turn, such as the Sleeping Dragon Statue in Hogwarts Legacy. Many of these landmarks yield Field Guide Pages, while others mark the destinations of various quests. For example, in the treasure map Arthur provides for the Cache in the Castle quest, illustrations of a dragon on a downward spiral, a rhinoceros skeleton, a dragon fountain, and a painting of a cozy cottage will lead its followers to treasure hidden within the castle.
Following Arthur’s Treasure Map
After their conversation with Arthur, players can jump right into the Cache in the Castle quest from their current location in the Astronomy Wing at Hogwarts. The first two landmarks can be found next to each other by heading to the Defence Against the Dark Arts Tower. The quickest way to reach this location is by fast-traveling to the Transfiguration Courtyard and heading to the right to enter the school. From there, players should head straight up the stairs and take a left, revealing the dragon on a downward spiral depicted on a stained-glass window next to the rhinoceros skeleton.
From the location of the first two landmarks, the dragon fountain illustrated in Arthur’s map can be found by heading back downstairs to the Transfiguration Courtyard. Outside, the fountain is located just to the left.
After locating the dragon fountain, the final landmark depicted in Arthur’s map can be found within the school by heading straight past the dragon fountain and entering the door ahead, as demonstrated by the YouTube channel Phlinger Phoo. Next, players will need to head straight, then take a right.
Players will arrive at a staircase, which they will need to follow until they see the painting of a cozy cottage. To reveal the treasure behind the painting, players will need to cast Accio, one of the first unlockable spells in Hogwarts Legacy.
Rewards for Completing the Cache in the Castle Quest
After completing the Cache in the Castle quest, players should head back to Arthur in the Astronomy Wing to discuss their findings. While Arthur says he managed to find a bit of money, players will get to keep the Authentic Historian’s Uniform that they found in the treasure chest behind the final landmark. Apart from this Gear item, which can be used to change the appearance of Gear in Hogwarts Legacy, players will also receive 180 XP for their trouble.
