Hogwarts Legacy: Solved By The Bell Guide

To complete Solved By The Bell in Hogwarts Legacy, players must follow the Musical Map and solve a unique music puzzle to receive special rewards.

Hogwarts’ famed headmaster Albus Dumbledore once said that music was a type of magic beyond what was taught at Hogwarts, but it’s at the heart of Hogwarts Legacy’s Solved By The Bell side quest. After obtaining the mysterious Musical Map from Henrietta’s Hideaway in the Manor Cape region, players can follow its cryptic clues to a unique musical puzzle that offers both treasure and a surprising Easter egg for fans. However, for players without a particularly musical ear or knowledge of how to read sheet music, completing Solved By The Bell might be surprisingly tricky.

Players will come across the Musical Map in Henrietta’s Hideaway, a key location for Hogwarts Legacy’s The Hippogriff Marks The Spot side quest and Rescuing Rococo. The Hippogriff Marks The Spot also involves following a map to buried treasure, and players can start that quest by finding Henrietta’s Map at a small Bandit Camp along the Poidsear Coast. Players can also chat with Agnes Coffey in Bainburgh, who will ask for their help in rescuing her runaway Niffler Rococo. Both quests point players to Henrietta’s Hideaway, a ruin at the end of Manor Cape that’s filled with hostile Ashwinders.

How To Find The Musical Map

Henrietta’s Hideaway can be found at the location marked on the map above. Players will need to fight through several Ashwinders, using Hogwarts Legacy’s best spell combos to gain the upper hand. On top of that, there’s an Elemental Cube Puzzle and magical floors that can prevent players from entering certain areas unless they’re tricked.

The Musical Map that starts Solved By The Bell is found in the same secret room as one of the elemental cubes used in the final puzzle in Henrietta’s Hideaway. The map can be found on a table to the left of the entrance.

How To Follow The Musical Map

The Musical Map points to Clagmar Castle, which can be found in the Clagmar Coast region along with several of Hogwarts Legacy’s Southern Regions Merlin Trials. Unfortunately, the ruins are also filled with Ashwinders, making Solved By The Bell a surprisingly combat-heavy side quest. After clearing out the Ashwinders, players should make their way over to the western part of the ruins, where they should be able to spot nine large bells hanging up in the air.

To solve the puzzle, players must hit the bells with Basic Cast in order to play the special tune printed on the Musical Map. Players unfamiliar with musical notation can just hit the bells in the order shown above to play the right tune. Much like Hogwarts Legacy’s Chess Puzzle, the melody is an Easter egg, and fans will immediately recognize it as the iconic theme from the Harry Potter movies.

Playing the theme will cause a chest to appear magically. Looting it completes Hogwarts Legacy’s Solved By The Bell quest and grants players some treasure, Galleons, and XP.
