Finding the best gear in Hogwarts Legacy can be a bit of a challenge. While it’s possible to buy gear and upgrade it in the Room of Requirement, the quality of the gear is really what makes the biggest difference as to how powerful the final item can become. The most common way that gear is found is through opening the chests that are scattered all throughout the various hidden locations in the game.

There are a few different types of chests though, Eyeball Chests, Collectibles Chests, Big Chests, and Small Chests and the loot that is obtained from the majority of them is random. However, with the use of one common feature getting the best gear possible is very easy.

How To Use The Chest Hack In Hogwarts Legacy

The best way to obtain gear is by looting chests, the items inside the big and small Chests provide gear and consumables while the Eyeball chests provide a large amount of Galleons. Specific Collectibles Chests have items in them that are unique to that specific chest.

A common feature of video games that has been a staple for a very long time is the ability to save games. By making a manual save file before opening a chest players can open the chest and if the item is not an upgrade they can load the previous save file before opening the chest and open it again for a chance to receive a better piece of gear. How To Get The Best Gear In Hogwarts Legacy

1. Find a Loot Chest
2. Create a New Save File
   • Open the Menu > Settings > Save Game
3. Open the Chest
4. Load Previous Save File (if the gear isn’t good)
   • Open the Menu > Settings > Load Game
5. Repeat as many times as necessary

The images above show that this chest can have different loot options inside, including different amounts of Galleons. Gear in Hogwarts Legacy has different levels of rarity, Orange (Legendary) is the best quality followed by Purple (Extraordinary), Blue (Superb), and Green (Well-appointed). Only the Hand, Face, Head, Neck, Cloaks and Robes, and Outfit can have different rarities. The Wand Handles, Flying Mount, and Brooms are entirely cosmetic in nature, but brooms can be upgraded by completing certain quests.

Players will want to keep repeating the process as many times as they like until receiving a higher-quality item, preferably a Legendary quality item. Legendary quality items have the best potential to be upgraded in the Room of Requirement as they have the highest base stats and the most trait slots.
