Hogwarts Legacy: Where To Get Leech Juice (Potion Ingredient)

Leech Juice can be used as an ingredient for two powerful potions in Hogwarts Legacy, incentivizing players to explore the open-world for this item.

One of the more elusive ingredients for making potions in Hogwarts Legacy, Leech Juice, helps players create two separate brews that cause extra damage to their enemies in battle should they get enough of the item to make both. Although not incredibly difficult to obtain, players will still have to go out of their way to different areas of the open world to find small instances where Leech Juice sits waiting to be collected. After being added to players’ inventory, Leech Juice may be used to make either a Maxima Potion or Thunderbrew, which give temporary buffs for a short duration.

The Maxima Potion gives players an increase to their spell damage, while Thunderbrew creates a small storm around their character that deals damage to enemies that get near it. A singular Leech Juice item is necessary as a piece of either’s recipe, which also requires Spider Fang in Hogwarts Legacy or Shrivelfig Fruit and Stench of the Dead, respectfully. However, before Leech Juice can even become useful for players, they must first consider buying potion recipes from J. Pippin’s Potions in order to even have the option to craft potions at the Potion Station in the Room of Requirement later on.

How To Find Leech Juice in Hogwarts Legacy

Players can find Leech Juice simply by exploring the world, where the item will occasionally appear in the wilds during ventures into certain regions or during quests. A prompt indicates when players can collect items from bushes or on defeated enemies as loot, but Leech Juice typically resides close to bodies of water. Using a Broom in Hogwarts Legacy to travel toward the sprawling lakes or rivers near the Forbidden Forest sometimes host Leech Juice on their edges, so players are encouraged to travel around the perimeter of these sections to nab Leech Juice periodically.

A far easier method for getting Leech Juice comes from the previously mentioned J. Pippin’s Potions shop, where the ingredient is sold for 150 galleons. However, due to the powerful nature of the potions Leech Juice contributes to, this item remains far more expensive than other ingredients such as Lacewing Flies or Mongrel Fur, which sell for about 50 galleons. To find and get Leech Juice, some restricted areas may need to be bypassed through the Alohamora spell in Hogwarts Legacy to give players a chance to broaden their search into the wider regions offered when opening doors with higher-level locks.
