1000-lb. Sisters season 4 has flip-flopped the Slaton sisters’ stories and seems to be pitting them against one another. Early in the run of the docuseries, Amy Slaton was doing much better than her sister, Tammy Slaton, at meeting her goals. Amy was approved for weight loss surgery quickly, got married, and in the course of a few years, had two sons. Tammy, on the other hand, had a difficult time getting down to her goal weight and ultimately had a medical emergency that landed her in a treatment facility with a trach tube.

As 1000-lb. Sisters has progressed, things have changed for the sisters. Amy Slaton has become a mother and put some weight back on, to the point that her doctors are concerned for her health. Her sister, Tammy Slaton, has managed to get to her goal weight, and though it has yet to air on the show, she married Caleb Willingham in November 2022. While things have been going well for Tammy, they have not been going as well for Amy. The show’s editing seems to be doing its best to pit the sisters against one another, ensuring that Amy resents Tammy for her success, and to ultimately cause drama.

After years of Amy’s successes being shown on 1000-lb. Sisters, it seems that she is having a difficult time celebrating Tammy’s. While Tammy has not always been celebratory of her sister, she has supported her through her weight loss surgery and pregnancies to the best of her abilities. Amy, now faced with celebrating Tammy’s success, seems to be more resentful than supportive.
