The sisters have spent the last several years chronicling their health and weight loss on the TLC docuseries, which first began airing in 2020. Though some of their social media posts are geared toward family updates and life events, they often use filters on their photos that change their faces to the point where they become unrecognizable.

Amy and Tammy, without knowing they’re doing so, may be causing themselves anxiety or building up shame about their looks by posting filtered photos.

Tammy has been open about her struggles with addiction during 1000-lb Sisters season 4, which has been refreshing to see play out on screen due to its authenticity. Amy, in turn, has been more honest with viewers on social media as she’s posted some unfiltered photos and often shares memories she’s making with her sons. Hopefully, as the duo finds more confidence in themselves, they will not feel the need to use filters on their photos and will simply post their authentic, beautiful selves.
