How to Beat Registeel In Pokémon GO
In order to beat Registeel in Pokémon GO, players will need to know its most effective counters, as well as how to catch it after the Raid Battle.
Registeel is a Steel-type Legendary Pokémon originally discovered in the Hoenn region and has recently returned to Pokémon GO. In case players need another incentive to participate in Raid Battles before it cycles out of rotation, they also have a chance of catching a shiny Registeel for a limited time. Registeel’s body, which was tempered by pressure underground over tens of thousands of years, is composed of a hard metal-like material.
Because it’s a Steel-type, the trick to defeating Registeel is to use a combination of Fire- and Fighting-type Pokémon. For even the most experienced trainer, knowing Registeel counters and weaknesses in Pokémon GO will help them get the edge they need in battle. To learn how to beat Registeel, players will need to know which Pokémon will be most effective in Raid Battles against Registeel and how to catch Registeel after winning a Raid Battle.
Registeel Weaknesses
Registeel in Pokémon GO is vulnerable to Fire-, Fighting-, and Ground-type attacks and resistant to Poison-type Pokémon. For their Registeel Raid Battle lineup, players should choose Pokémon with a Fast Attack and a Charged Attack of one of these types if they want to benefit from a same-type attack bonus, which deals an additional 20% damage in Pokémon GO. If players have multiple Pokémon that know Fire-, Fighting-, or Ground-type attacks, they should choose ones with the highest CP and best overall stats to defeat Registeel as quickly as possible (and earn more Premier Balls to catch it).

How to Catch Registeel
Because of the limited number of Premier Balls players receive during the Registeel Raid, those hoping to catch Registeel afterwards should take advantage of its movement pattern and throw during a pause. Additionally, players can improve their chances by timing their throws so that the target ring shrinks enough to score them Excellent Throws. While throwing Curveballs can improve players’ chances to catch Registeel in Pokémon GO even more, they should aim for Nice or Great Throws if they don’t think they can reliably throw Excellent Curveballs.
Players can also utilize Berries during this encounter, as Razz Berries and Golden Razz Berries will make catching Registeel even easier. Additionally, if players fail to land their throws, they can use a Nanab Berry to calm Registeel, making its movements less erratic and allowing players to make precise throws more easily. Finally, players can use a Silver Pinap Berry to make Registeel easier to catch and grant them extra Registeel Candy.
Trainers can also use Buddy Pokémon in Pokémon GO with a level of Great Buddy or higher to take advantage of the Catch Assist Perk. Having a Buddy ensures that if a Pokémon deflects a Poké Ball, the Ball could be bounced back for a second catch opportunity. Like all Legendary Pokémon, Registeel is tricky to catch, but stocking up on useful items like Potions, Revives, and Golden Razz Berries can help increase a player’s chance to beat and catch Registeel in Pokémon GO.
