How to Dye Armor in Witcher 3

[ad_1]

Along with the host of content the Blood and Wine expansion adds to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, players can also Dye Geralt’s Armor in Toussaint.

Blood and Wine is a must-have expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that expands the game world with the whole region of Toussaint to explore, a customizable player home for Geralt, and even dyes for armor. Dyes come in various pigments and allow players to change Geralt’s armor to colors like green, yellow, and pink. These dyes can be obtained from loot, purchased from a vendor, or crafted.

The simplest way to get dyes in Witcher 3 is by buying them from a shopkeeper exclusive to Toussaint. However, this method requires players to install the Blood and Wine expansion and complete the quest “A Poet Under Pressure,” which can be accepted by visiting the town quest board of Mulbrydale in Velen. While it’s possible to start the quest at any level, it is recommended that players attain Level 35 or higher before embarking for Toussaint. Alternatively, players can begin a New Game and directly access the Blood and Wine DLC content.

Once players have made it to Toussaint in Witcher 3, they can find the Dye Merchant on the east side of Beauclair. Travel to Beauclair Port and head south across the bridge. Across the water, players should be able to spot a small area with spilled paint on the ground and a group of people dipping clothes into colorful pools of pigments. Head to this location and speak with the vendor in the center to get access to dyes in Witcher 3. If players wish to refresh the Dye Merchant’s stock to see more outfit colors, they can have Geralt Meditate for an hour and then speak to the shopkeeper again.

After buying the desired armor dye in Witcher 3, players can go into their inventory to change Geralt’s armor color. Choose the dye and select the piece of Geralt’s Witcher armor to be modified. Witcher 3’s Armor Dyes can only be used once, and if the player wishes to revert the clothing’s color to what it was before they must use a Dye Remover, which can also be purchased from the Dye Merchant.

Armor dyes in Witcher 3 are quite expensive, costing more than a thousand Crowns each. Players wishing to save their hard-earned coin can find Dye Formulas throughout Toussaint to craft armor pigments on their own. One rare Dye Formula in Witcher 3 is Black Armor Dye, a unique color that the Dye Merchant usually won’t sell. To find different Witcher 3 outfit look, go to the maze-like ruins located northwest of the map, west of the small lake with an island. Search the area to find a skeleton lying beside a chest. Loot the skeleton to obtain the recipe for Black Armor Dye in Witcher 3.
