To provide a broad range of options for customers, Kia offers three paid Connect plans that range between $5.99 to $19.99 a month. The base plan, Lite, is free and is available for five years. Meanwhile, Kia is starting to grow a noticeable presence in the EV market through the entry of the EV6 and Niro EV. Loaded with several attractive features, the EV6 has been compared to Tesla’s Model S.

Kia Connect comes with multiple functionalities for both in-car and in-app activities. To set up Kia Connect, drivers will need to download the app from either the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. The next step is pairing the smartphone with the car. Kia provides a detailed guide that begins with creating a user account, followed by verifying one’s identity using a code sent to the phone. To add the car to the account, customers can either use the QR code for select vehicles or supply the VIN. To complete the link request, drivers should tap ‘Verification Code’ on the car’s electronic dashboard unit to generate a code that will need to be entered into the app. Once done, Kia EV owners can begin enjoying the app’s features.

Following the successful pairing of the phone and the Kia EV, users can learn more about how the app works to improve the ownership experience. Using the app, drivers can take charge of their car’s battery life by remotely starting, stopping, and scheduling charging sessions. It’s worth mentioning that Kia offers buyers of the EV6 1,000 kWh of complimentary charging through Electrify America. Drivers can also set their preferred cabin temperature through the app.

With the in-car services come features like Online Navigation, Charging Stations, Parking, and more. Using the Online Navigation function, drivers can easily determine the fastest route using live traffic data which is constantly updated to provide accurate information. Locating nearby charging stations is also possible, and Kia Connect even displays available payment methods, connector types, and other vital data. Convenient parking is also covered, as Kia EV drivers can easily find vacant spaces through the infotainment screen which displays possible slots using color coding.
