The trailers for Teen Wolf: The Movie have implied that the Nogitsune is out to get revenge on Scott and his pack for defeating and trapping it at the end of Teen Wolf season 3. The Nogitsune is known as a dark trickster spirit – it feeds on chaos, strife, and pain, and has used those closest to Scott in the past to mess with his mind. Stiles Stilinski (Dylan O’Brien), Scott’s best friend, was possessed by the Nogitsune for most of Teen Wolf season 3B, and it was the Nogitsune that got Allison killed just before Scott’s pack figured out how to defeat it.

It’s more likely that the Allison in the Teen Wolf movie isn’t the real Allison but rather a supernatural copy of some kind – one that doesn’t necessarily hold all of Allison’s life experiences and memories, but looks and acts like her enough to throw Scott and his friends off their game completely.
