DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn teases 5 unannounced DC Universe characters in a clever way. After running for a decade, the DCEU is winding down with the remaining movies that are coming out this year. Gunn and Peter Safran, who was tapped as co-CEOs for DC Studios, are launching a new DC Universe. With television shows, movies, animation, and video games under their responsibilities, several characters are on their way to big and small screens. The duo made the announcement last month for the first half of Chapter 1, titled “Gods and Monsters,” of projects that are on their way. The other half of “Gods and Monsters” is expected to be revealed later this year.

While several DC movies and TV shows were revealed last month, audiences are still trying to speculate what other characters are joining the DC Universe. In a new poll about the DC Universe listed ten characters that fans vote for that they wanted to see in live-action. James Gunn ended up responding on Instagram that at least five of those players will be part of his DC Universe. Check out his original post below:

Which Heroes & Villains Could Be Joining James Gunn’s DC Universe

Blue Beetle, Superman, and Batman in the DCU

With Gunn’s response, it raises the question of which five heroes and villains are joining his DC Universe. One of the projects that are coming up is The Brave and The Bold, which will be a new Batman reboot. Unlike other versions, this will focus on Bruce Wayne as a father as he discovers the existence of Damian Wayne. Something that has been established about the film is that it will introduce the concept of the Bat-Family.

If this will be a Batman franchise that already has various characters existing, Gunn’s response to the poll does add some fuel to who they could be. On the poll, Dick Grayson/Nightwing and Jason Todd/Red Hood were mentioned, who are two major iconic Bat-Family members. The Court of Owls was also listed on the poll, and Gunn’s response may hint that the iconic villain group will show up in the DC Universe. Lobo has been highly speculated to be joining the DC Universe as Jason Momoa has been teasing a DC project that he is excited about.

Since Superman: Legacy will be the first major DC Universe project, Brainiac is a possible option from the poll. Brainiac, who is one of the Man of Steel’s greatest villains, would be a major way to kick off Superman’s new cinematic adventures. With a new universe on its way, there are a lot of iconic characters that will have a chance to get their due on the big and small screens. Hopefully, as 2023 progresses forward, new details about the DC Universe will be revealed sooner rather than later.
