Kang Gloats About Killing Thor In Ant-Man & The Wasp Quantumania Clip

While facing Scott Lang, Kang the Conqueror gloats about killing Thor and taking on the Avengers in a new Ant-Man & The Wasp Quantumania clip.

Kang the Conqueror gloats about previously killing Thor in a brand new Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania clip. The Ant-Man franchise is going big for its trilogy-capper both in terms of scope and stakes. That’s encapsulated in Team Ant-Man’s next adversary — Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror, who is tipped to be the Multiverse Saga’s big bad.

As the release of the Peyton Reed-directed film nears, Marvel Studios (via @Cryptic4KQual) is ramping up the movie’s marketing by rolling out snippets of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, including one that features Kang gloating about killing Thor. Watch it below:

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

A portion of this scene has been prominently used in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailers, but this is the first chance to see the whole scene play out. This appears to be the first time Scott Lang meets Kang the Conqueror. Meanwhile, Cassie is noticeably imprisoned, which is how Kang will blackmail Ant-Man into cooperating.

Can Thor Actually Defeat Kang In Avengers 5?

Thor love and thunder Kang Antman quantumania

As he revealed in previously released footage from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Kang has pretty much killed all the Avengers. But it’s interesting that he specifically chose to reference the God of Thunder in this situation. While he may not remember his name, Thor may have made an impression and that’s why it stands out in Kang the Conqueror’s memory. It’s unclear if Marvel Studios will ever show what that expectedly brutal fight looked like.

At this point, anything can still happen in Team Ant-Man’s fight against Kang, but whatever happens in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘s story, Kang’s next face-off against Thor is already potentially set in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. The upcoming Destin Cretton film is set to be the beginning of the culmination of the Multiverse Saga. Considering their history, it’s uncertain if the God of Thunder is able to defeat Kang this time. Since the MCU is expected to move forward, chances are the villain will be taken down by the combined efforts of the Avengers. But their win may once again demand a sacrifice from one of their own, like what happened when Iron Man gave his life in Avengers: Endgame.

Amid Kang’s menacing words, it’s great that Reed is still able to inject Ant-Man’s signature humor into the scene. It’s likely that Scott’s words about calling the Avengers are empty and all in an effort to scare the villain off. Nonetheless, it’s still very funny seeing him trying to intimidate the MCU’s next big bad in the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania bit.
