Leah McSweeney Thrilled About Blacking Out With RHONY Legends

Leah McSweeney gushes over her friendship with RHONY OGs Dorinda Medley, Ramona Singer, and Luann de Lesseps with a comment about blacking out.

Leah McSweeney is glad she got to black out with The Real Housewives of New York City icons Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, and Dorinda Medley. Leah joined during RHONY season 12 to replace fan-favorite Bethenny Frankel, who left the series. However, Leah’s tenure was marred with controversies, including a battle with addiction and an assault on Heather Thompson. There were also rumors that RHONY producers wanted to fire her, though one may never know if that was true as Bravo has since introduced an entirely new cast for RHONY and a possible RHONY: Legacy reboot, which would have featured fan-favorite OGs, though the latter has reportedly been put on hold.

Despite the controversies surrounding The Real Housewives of New York City‘s Leah McSweeney, she seemingly bonded in a way with some RHONY OGs, including Dorinda, Ramona, and Luann. The quartet’s bond was on display when Interview Mag posted a now-deleted photo of Dorinda, Ramona, and Luann enjoying cups of coffee. The trio smiled as they posed for the snap, which was captioned, “God Tier.”

Leah commented on the post featuring the three RHONY OGs, writing, “The fact that I got to get black out with them. I’m blessed.” Comments by Bravo captured the post before it was deleted and reposted it with the caption, “An honor and a privilege.”

Several fans commented on the post and Leah’s reaction to the picture, referencing her sobriety journey. One of the fans who commented said they hoped Leah would never get to black out with Dorinda, Ramona, and Luann again. A second fan noted that Leah’s comment was strange since she claims to be sober. The fan added, “Didn’t she announce her road to recovery on IG? Most people in recovery don’t glamorize any moment of their addiction. Trust me.” Some other fans who commented said Leah ruined the RHONY franchise, with one of them confessing, “Leah[‘s] comments make me puke. She was the beginning of the end.”

Leah’s comment was in response to a picture taken during Dorinda, Ramona, and Leah’s recent lunch at New York City’s Avra Estiatorio. The women shared pictures of themselves at the lunch on social media, with Dorinda also commenting on it on her SiriusXM show, noting that they were all friends and love each other. However, she didn’t say a word about Leah’s “black out” comment. Leah gushing about her friendship with the ladies shows she misses them. However, like several fans pointed out, Leah shouldn’t recall her past drinking escapades but remain dedicated to staying sober.

When Leah joined RHONY, she had taken a brief hiatus from her 10-year sobriety and often misbehaved after taking some alcohol. Thus, one can understand why her comments displeased some fans as it made them recall some of her actions, which negatively impacted The Real Housewives of New York City. Leah’s comments also come when there is uncertainty about the RHONY: Legacy series. Hopefully, the show still goes on and Leah remains sober.
