[ad_1]

Thanks to the events of Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania, Marvel finally admits the big Avengers problem in the MCU’s ongoing Multiverse Saga.

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania. Thanks to Ant-Man & Wasp: Quantumania, Marvel finally admits the Multiverse Saga’s big Avengers final problem. Marvel Studios officially kicks off Phase 5 with the Ant-Man threequel which pulls Team Ant-Man into the Quantum Realm. It also officially debuts the Avengers’ next big adversary in Kang the Conqueror. Amid everything that happens in the movie, however, Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania also highlights how Marvel Studios dropped the ball when it comes to handling the Avengers in the Multiverse Saga.

After an extended break following the end of the Infinity Saga, Marvel Studios started MCU Phase 4, which functioned as a rebuilding period for the franchise. Now that it has officially entered Phase 5, Marvel Studios is more actively laying the groundwork for the Multiverse Saga; Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania‘s Kang introduction is a big step toward that. However, while the MCU has started establishing the universe’s next big bad guy, its heroes remain suspiciously missing.

Ant-Man Represents The Avengers’ Big Multiverse Mistake

Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania‘s emotional hook is Scott Lang’s relationship with his daughter. Now fully grown up, Cassie Lang becomes involved in social issues, including matters that are tied to the unexpected problems brought by the undoing of Thanos’ snap in Avengers: Endgame. Given her strong urge to be of service to the community, Cassie criticizes Scott for essentially stopping being a hero and instead just cashing in on the benefits of his newfound fame. This is actually a dig on the Avengers’ absence in the post-Infinity Saga MCU. Much has happened since Thanos was defeated, and yet, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as a team has yet to show up.

Granted that Marvel Studios have attempted to compartmentalize their recent narratives, it’s still difficult to believe that the Avengers will idly stay on the sidelines while several threats pop up around the world. Sam Wilson’s Captain America debut in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Eternals‘ Emergence are both very public incidents that should have caught the attention of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. The same goes for all the public fights in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Hawkeye. Amid all that, the Avengers remain to be seen in the post-Infinity Saga MCU.

Where Are The Avengers In The Multiverse Saga?

Captain America and the MCU Phase 5 New Avengers Team

With Iron Man dead in the MCU and Captain America officially retired, the Avengers were left with no clear leader at the end of Avengers: Endgame. The team’s future remains uncertain, but it doesn’t seem right that Earth’s Mightiest Heroes just decide to go their separate ways, especially after what happened with their fight against Thanos. Sadly, it doesn’t appear like the Avengers is a functioning unit in the Multiverse Saga. Its supposed members are busy dealing with their respective arcs, with no one running communications point to keep everyone connected. Hopefully, however, they resolve this quickly as the threat of Kang the Conqueror is now imminent.
