Welcome To Plathville‘s Moriah Plath posted a sweet birthday message on Instagram for her sister Lydia Plath’s 19th birthday. Throughout the series, fans have seen the drastic differences between Moriah and Lydia. Moriah possesses a natural rebellious side that’s always led her to fight against the rules her parents set for her and her siblings. As the Plath children grow up, it’s become natural for them to branch outside what their parents taught them, like Ethan Plath separating himself from his family to pursue a life with his wife Olivia Plath and Micah Plath pursuing a modeling career. However, Lydia maintains mostly the same values as her parents.

Despite their differences, Welcome To Plathville‘s Moriah and Lydia have a close relationship. Lydia recently turned 19 years old, and Moriah celebrated her younger sister with a heartfelt social media post.

“Happy happy birthday to one of the 5 coolest sisters in the world!” the Welcome To Plathville star wrote on her Instagram story. “You are a true inspiration and the kindest human I know!” Moriah expressed how grateful she is to have Lydia as her sister, stating all the joy that Lydia brings into her world. She posted a second story pointing out that Lydia’s middle name, Joy, could not be more perfect for her.

Welcome To Plathville‘s Lydia Plath Isn’t Rebellious Like Moriah Is

On Welcome To Plathville, Lydia has stepped out of her comfort zone and branched out in her own way, but she’s not nearly as rebellious as Moriah. The second oldest Plath sister clashes a lot with her mother, who doesn’t necessarily agree with her lifestyle. Lydia has a much closer relationship with her mother and an even closer relationship with God. Lydia is very religious and believes in everything her parents raised her to believe in. She regularly goes to church and, like Moriah, writes music, but her songs are heavily based on religion.

It’s good to see that despite all the drama between the Plath children and their parents, Moriah and Lydia haven’t let it get in the way of their sisterly bond. The most special part of their relationship is they’ve both accepted the other for who they are. Moriah never pushes Lydia to be more like her, and Lydia never criticizes Moriah for stepping out of line and doing things differently than she was raised to do. However, it’s clear they still have both learned so much from each other, and it’s helped them both grow into who they are.

When Welcome To Plathville premiered, Lydia was only 15 years old. Now at 19, so much in her life has changed. From the strained relationship between her siblings and her mother to her parents’ separation, Lydia has had a lot of challenges thrown her way. She even had to deal with her mother, Kim Plath, getting a DUI in October. Luckily, no matter what life throws her way, her sister Moriah is on her side and appreciates her for all that she is.
