Pokémon Legends: Arceus NPCs Get Gorgeous New Art Ahead Of Release

[ad_1]

Pokémon Legends: Arceus has revealed numerous NPC art designs, and new illustrative images have released leading up to the game’s launch this month.

As the release day for Pokémon Legends: Arceus creeps closer, Nintendo has continued to release new trailers and art to help get fans hyped. The new Pokémon game is set for release on January 28, 2022, just a few weeks away, and has teased gameplay mechanics that are new to the series. While some long-time fans may be apprehensive about the overall experience Pokémon Legends: Arceus may provide, the changes being made could mark a new direction for future Pokémon games.

A few large-scale changes have already been introduced in recent Pokémon games like Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee and Pokémon Sword and Shield. Both titles introduced gameplay that makes it easier to use a wider selection of Pokémon while battling across a region, as well as new exploration styles like battle-free catch mechanics and the open-world-inspired Wild Area. However, one of the biggest changes for the games has been the inclusion of more in-depth NPCs with bigger roles in the overarching narratives.

On the Japanese Nintendo website for Pokémon Legends: Arceus, numerous screenshots of gameplay, landscapes, and towns have been uploaded for players to view. This includes detailed visuals of the new battle mechanics, and colorful character sheets of the new NPCs already revealed via trailers. Players can also get a look at the recently revealed leaders of the Diamond and Pearl clans. Adaman, the leader of the Diamond Clan, has two-toned blue hair and a detailed character design reminiscent of Leon from Sword and Shield. Irida, the Pearl Clan leader, has a color pallete and facial features similar to X and Y’s Serena. Like Adaman, she also has color highlighted through her hair, and a detailed overall design.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus also received a handful of new trailers, including one six minutes in length, confirming details for gameplay mechanics. Players were able to see many new locations in the Hisui region, several shop fronts, and Pokémon trainer customization options along with footage of the rideable Pokémon for the region. The ability to customize the facial features, hair, clothing, and accessories of playable characters has been well-liked by fans, and will hopefully be just as exciting and diverse as in past Pokémon titles.

While few details have been confirmed for Pokémon Legends: Acreus’ narrative outside of completing the first Pokédex, the newly revealed characters could hint at a story potentially influenced by player actions. It is possible players could have the ability to join a team of their choosing to fight alongside later in the narrative, or even have sway in the development of the Galaxy Team’s goals. The ability to work alongside these new characters in a more flexible nature could add replayability to Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and change the feel of immersion when on a Pokémon journey.
