Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Best Chansey & Blissey Build For Tera Raids
Chansey and Blissey in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet play excellent support roles in any raid team looking to tackle a Tera Raid Boss Pokemon.
Chansey and Blissey are not the sort of Pokémon a trainer would think to take into a Tera Raid in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but they can work well in a support role. In a Tera Raid with multiple players, there’s less need to focus purely on attack, and there can be real benefits to having support roles meant to weaken the Raid Boss. Instead, focus on healing and buffing teammates so that they can destroy the boss.
Because this build will be focused on support, the player isn’t under too much pressure to evolve Chansey into Blissey in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, with the only difference being a bit more Special Attack and Special Defense and slightly more health. The important thing to remember when looking for the right Chansey or Blissey (or Happiny if they have an Oval Stone) is that they have the Natural Cure Ability and are not yet at level 12.
Best Chansey & Blissey Moves For Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
According to the Youtube channel 101Leafy, Chansey can learn the move ‘Skill Swap‘ via TM 098, which swaps the Abilities of the move’s user and its target. Combined with Natural Cure, which removes status conditions on switch-out or battle end, Skill Swap effectively removes the Boss’s Ability. This can be significant when going against a Tera Raid boss like Cinderace, whose Blaze Ability makes Fire-type attacks even more damaging. But this synergy alone is only one of two key elements to the build.
The other key element is the move Life Dew, which heals both the user and its allies for 25% of their maximum health. Chansey and Blissey can only learn this move when they hit level 12, and that’s the core reason a trainer should be looking for something low-level. Being able to heal a big chunk of the team’s health and keep them from going down is a fantastic thing to have, as any MMO raid veteran would happily confirm.
Those two moves are the core of this build, and players can build up around it as they wish. For Held Items, a great option is Eviolite, especially with an unevolved Chansey, thanks to the massive defensive boost. The last two move slots aren’t as important, but something like Helping Hand to boost allies’ Attack and Take Down to do damage with are good options for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Tera Raids.
