Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Best Iron Jugulis Build for Tera Raids

[ad_1]

The Paradox Pokémon Iron Jugulis Attack build uses its high Special Attack and Speed for Tera Raids, in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

A unique deviation to the Generation Five Hydreigon, Iron Jugulis is a Paradox Pokémon within Pokémon Scarlet and Violet whose staggering Speed and Special Attack work in tandem to take down the challenging bosses seen in Tera Raids. As players interact with the postgame content available after beating the three main questlines, they get access to the wild Paradox Pokémon in the Great Crater of Paldea and the Tera Raid Crystals of six or seven stars that appear on their map. These difficult challenges demand a honed team of strong Pokémon, and the Dark-/Flying-type Iron Jugulis may be an option for ambitious trainers looking to tackle these battles.

The primary component to forming the ultimate Tera Raid build in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet revolves around Iron Jugulis’ move list, held item, Nature, and type advantages. While players may want to equip an item such as the Choice Scarf, which increases a Pokémon’s Speed stat by 50% at the cost of only being able to use one move for the duration of its time out, they should also take into account the unique Ability of Iron Jugulis that plays into its strengths. Only coming into play when an Electric Terrain is active or when players place a Booster Energy on Iron Jugulis, Quark Drive gives a 30% boost to the Pokémon’s highest stat, or 50% if that trait happens to be Speed.

Best Iron Jugulis Moves & Nature For Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

The Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB) that ties to the Dark-/Flying-type moves Iron Jugulis may learn forms the backbone of an offensive build for Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, in particular Dark Pulse and Air Slash. Dealing around the same damage with 80 and 75 Power, respectfully, the former attack has a small chance to flinch the opponent, while the latter has a high critical hit chance. Players have a few options outside these two attacks, but the moves that could end up working best are Earth Power and U-Turn.

The reason for the last two moves in Iron Jugulis’ kit comes from their type disadvantages, specifically toward Electric-type opponents who deal super-effective damage. For example, Earth Power is a direct counter to Tera Raid Pokémon that either has that typing or uses a transformed Tera Type in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. In the same vein, U-Turn helps players mitigate risk in match-ups where Iron Jugulis could struggle, using the attack to deal damage first using the Paradox Pokémon’s high Speed before switching to a more appropriate member of their team.

Perhaps the most flexible part of an Iron Jugulis build for Tera Raids depends on the player’s preference for their Nature. An adjustable factor using Mint items found in Delibird Shops, players must consider whether they wish to prioritize Speed through a Timid Nature or Special Attack with a Modest Nature. Both of these traits reduce Iron Jugulis’ Attack stat as a result, but the best build for the Pokémon in Tera Raids from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet functions more with stability to their best traits rather than an overall balance.
