Iron Leaves in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet started appearing in Psychic-type Tera Raids on February 27, 2023, and will leave them on March 12, 2023. Since Iron Leaves is a future Paradox Pokémon form, it will appear exclusively on Pokémon Violet‘s maps. However, these Pokémon can still be obtained through Nintendo Online services for people to catch them in Pokémon Scarlet. Furthermore, trainers catching Iron Leaves will also have access to its new move Psyblade which has increased damage when used on an Electric Terrain.

To begin looking for Iron Leaves, connect to the internet via Poké Portal and check out Pokémon News. After accessing the news, back out and check around the Paldean Region Map for a Psychic-type Raid with a shining effect around it. Due to no other events running right now and the end of the 7-Star Pikachu Raid, this should be the only raid available. While looking for it on the map, trainers will notice a shining animation to symbolize that it is an event, so it should be easy to spot. Once the raid has been found, click on it and find a 5-Star Iron Leaves ready for battle.

Iron Leaves Weaknesses

Iron Leaves and its new signature move Psyblade in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The future Paradox Pokémon Iron Leaves in Pokémon Violet resembles a legendary Pokémon from the Unova region named Virizion. For this Tera Raid, it will be a monotype Psychic-type Pokémon; however, in general, Tera Raids feature some of Scarlet & Violet’s best dual-type Pokémon such as Grass- and Psychic-type.

Iron Leaves resists six different Pokémon types, including Fighting-, Ground-, Water-, Grass-, Electric-, and Psychic-type moves.

Having said that, with all these resistances comes a 4x weakness to Bug-type moves. Additionally, the moves Iron Leaves uses during this raid will be Swords Dance, Psyblade, Megahorn, Leaf Blade, and Electric Terrain.

How To Beat Iron Leaves Psychic-Tera Raid

At the beginning of the Iron Leaves Psychic-Tera Raid in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Iron Leaves will immediately set up its Electric Terrain. This will activate Iron Leaves’ Quark Drive ability like Scarlet & Violet‘s best Miraidon builds. Once activated, for the next few turns, Iron Leaves will begin attacking the trainer with its signature move Psyblade, which according to Bulbapedia, increases the moves base power to 120 on an Electric Terrain.

Players should take caution when using a Pokémon with the ability Unaware or Taunt as Swords Dance can make Iron Leaves extremely strong.

For example, the best Umbreon Tera Raid build makes a great team addition due to its unique moves, such as Taunt, Screech, Skill Swap, and Foul Play. Another Pokémon to use could be Skeledirge with its ability Unaware, which can ignore Iron Leaves’s stat changes making it easier for Skeledirge to survive powerful hits. Finally, if trainers are still looking for new Pokémon to raid with, consider bringing a Scizor to the fray, as it can use Swords Dance, X-Scissor, and tank a hit at the same time due to its sufficient bulk in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
