This Rick and Morty cosplay perfectly captures Rick, Morty and Summer’s personalities as the trio embarks on a new adventure through a portal.

New Rick and Morty cosplay manages to perfectly represent the characters’ personalities. Rick and Morty debuted in 2013 on Adult Swim and quickly became one of the biggest animated shows of the decade, if not of all time. The acclaimed series recently concluded its sixth season with a final episode that set up a thrilling, yet darker storyline for the upcoming Rick and Morty season 7.

Russian cosplayer daaarchi shared a new piece on Instagram that perfectly captures the personalities of three main Rick and Morty characters. Daarchi portrays Summer in the cosplay, the character who was the focus of a poignant reveal in Rick and Morty season 6. The cosplay presents Summer alongside Rick and Morty as the trio falls through one of Rick’s portals towards an adventure. Summer is nonchalantly taking a selfie, Rick is drinking from his trusted flask, and Morty is his ever frantic self as he tries to stop the fall with his arms. Check out the cosplay below:

Rick And Morty Season 6 Was One Of The Show’s Best

Rick and Morty has enjoyed quite a few high-quality seasons throughout its run, but there’s a case to be made about season 6 standing among Rick and Morty’s best. After the more serialized approach to storytelling in season 5, Rick and Morty returned to its more traditional style of not focusing too much on the show’s canon and presenting a different wacky adventure each week. Episodes ranged from Rick and Morty‘s version of the clone debate to one of the show’s most emotional episodes to date in “Analyze Piss.” That last episode took Rick on a true character study as audiences saw him adopt the mantle of the villain Pissmaster after being unable to prevent the character’s suicide.

Rick and Morty‘s ability to completely shift tones every week, or even within the same episode, is definitely one of the animated series’ major positives. Even though the show went back to its most standalone ways for season 6, Rick and Morty managed to keep the core element of Rick’s personal character development going throughout the season. Rick’s family, specially Morty, continually noted how he’d changed for the better by being more supportive of them and emotionally open. Even with the standalone approach, Rick and Morty season 6 addressed Rick Prime’s status on the season finale.

What To Expect From Rick And Morty Season 7

The Rick and Morty season 6 finale concluded with Rick making a very straightforward promise to the audience that season 7 would focus on his search for the man who killed his Beth and Diane, Rick Prime. Rick won’t be alone on his search, as he pulled in Morty, who was extremely mad at Rick for occulting his search and replacing himself for an episode with a robot. Rick and Morty season 6 continued the recent trend of developing Rick as someone who can count on others and share his feelings, especially with Rick revealing everything he had on Rick Prime to Morty in the finale. Season 7 will finally have Rick and Morty as an equal team as they embark on a journey to find Rick Prime. With that arc, season 7 should take the show back on a more serialized approach as Rick and Morty deals with its biggest canon villain.
