The hotly anticipated trailer for the Russo Brothers’ Prime Video series Citadel has been delayed in solidarity with an unforeseen tragedy in Greece.

Citadel, the hotly anticipated new series from Avengers: Endgame directing duo Joe and Anthony Russo, has had its official trailer release delayed. The Russos are executive producing the spy series, which is set to premiere with its first two episodes on Prime Video on April 28. The series was created by Josh Appelbaum & Bryan Oh, who previously collaborated on Happy Town, October Road, Life on Mars, and the James Patterson adaptation Zoo.

Today, the planned release of the Citadel trailer was delayed. Per Deadline, the reason for this was a deadly train collision in Greece that led to 36 deaths and many more injuries. The teaser, which features a prominent sequence set on a train, was delayed in solidarity with those mourning the loss of loved ones. Read Amazon’s statement to the press below:

Out of respect for our international community and due to yesterday’s devastating breaking news from Greece, we are respectfully holding on sharing the official trailer for Citadel.

It is not uncommon for trailers to be postponed or edited following real-life events. However, Citadel‘s trailer release also ties into the ethos of the series itself. The show is designed to bring together the world, with different spinoffs of the series set in Italy, India, Spain, and Mexico currently in development as part of an expansive global storytelling experiment.

The initial season of Citadel will introduce viewers to this new world as they follow Citadel agent Mason Kane, played by Eternals star Richard Madden. Citadel is a global spy agency that crumbled eight years ago, leaving Kane and agent Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) with their memories wiped. However, the two are brought back together by Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci) to defend the world from an evil syndicate called Manticore.

The first arm of the series will open with a six-episode season that is jam-packed with international stars. In addition to Chopra Jonas, Madden, and Tucci, the cast of Citadel also includes Oscar nominee Lesley Manville, Osy Ikhile, Ashleigh Cummings, Roland Møller, and Caoilinn Springall. That will be followed by the Indian series starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth, with the other international spinoff set to come down the road.
