Should You Turn In Sebastian Sallow or Not in Hogwarts Legacy

[ad_1]

Sebastian Sallow is a dubious figure in Hogwarts Legacy, as someone players can turn in for their dark intentions, or choose not to for new magic.

The Slytherin student companion Sebastian Sallow in Hogwarts Legacy practices dark magic, and the game allows players to either turn him in for his taboo knowledge or not give any report against him. A reasonable question of the player’s morals, the question becomes more complicated as Sebastian remains the only character that teaches the Unforgivable Curses. Players that want to learn Imperio, Crucio, or the instant death spell Avada Kedavra can only do so by choosing the proper dialogue with Sebastian and increasing their relationship.

The opportunity to turn Sebastian in comes from the main story quest, “In the Shadow of Fate,” after players have completed their first Beasts class. The other missions, “The Helm of Urtkot” and “The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament,” must also be finished for players to interact with Sebastian to this degree. If suitably horrified by the student’s blatant use of outlawed magic, players can turn him in soon after the quest to see him expelled from Hogwarts and thrown into Azkaban in Hogwarts Legacy for the remainder of the game.

Pros & Cons Of Not Turning In Sebastian in Hogwarts Legacy

Sebastian Sallow gives players their only way to embrace the path of a dark wizard, eventually allowing them to unlock each of the Unforgivable Curses. These spells are by far the most powerful magics in the game during combat, with Avada Kedavra simply eliminating any enemy in one hit.

Beyond some disapproving dialogue from other characters, there are no downsides to learning Avada Kedavra from Sebastian, encouraging players not to turn him in.

Although players still need to choose the best conversation choices when interacting with Sebastian, simply having him still around creates these chances in the first place. The character has an interesting story path in Hogwarts Legacy revolving around his family and past, so players would be missing out on a compelling narrative as well. If players do turn Sebastian in, they lock out additional content that could extend their time in the wizarding world’s darker side.

To speak strictly on benefits to combat, every Unforgivable Curse meshes well with other destructive magic to give players potent spell combos. Taught periodically in quests with Sebastian, each of the three spells have long cooldowns due to their compelling results in battle. When players choose whether to turn in Sebastian Sallow or not, they should consider the amount of fun they might miss by losing access to Hogwarts Legacy‘s Unforgivable Curses and the experimentation that comes from having new magic.
