Should You Use Avada Kedavra In Hogwarts Legacy

[ad_1]

The killing curse is one of the most infamous spells, but is it better to reject learning Avada Kedavra or to use it willingly in Hogwarts Legacy?

Just like any good RPG, Portkey Games’ latest release gives players the choice of creating a good or evil character, but that doesn’t necessarily mean its worth using Avada Kedavra in Hogwarts Legacy. Alongside the killing curse, it’s also possible to learn and cast the other two Unforgivable Curses: the torture spell Crucio, and the mind control spell Imperio. However, some witches and wizards may understandably have some hesitations about using Avada Kedavra to outright kill their opposition.

In Harry Potter, Avada Kedavra is the most powerful and dangerous spell. It was the crux behind much of Lord Voldemort’s power (in multiple ways), and in general, it’s an easy one-way ticket to the wizarding world’s high-security prison, Azkaban. Even though the true meaning of the Avada Kedavra spell proves that it was never intended to harm, that’s ultimately what it’s known for in Harry Potter and in Hogwarts Legacy alike, and so it may be difficult to determine whether it’s worth using this dark magic in-game.

Does Using Avada Kedavra Have Consequences In Hogwarts Legacy?

Surprisingly, there are little to no consequences for using Avada Kedavra in Hogwarts Legacy. Even though the protagonist is using the most notorious spell to ever exist, they’re never reprimanded by anyone (other than a few lines of generic dialogue from NPCs and companions). In fact, the main storyline won’t be affected whatsoever if the player decides to become a dark wizard. This may come as a disappointment to some players who were looking forward to causing chaos in the wizarding world; but generally, the fact that using Avada Kedavra has virtually no negative impact on Hogwarts Legacy makes a strong case for using the spell in combat.

Avada Kedavra Is Hogwarts Legacy’s Best Spell

So while Hogwarts Legacy‘s dark magic has pros and cons, the advantages tend to heavily outweigh the disadvantages for many witches and wizards. Predictably, Avada Kedavra is hands-down the game’s best spell, as it’s an instant kill to nearly every enemy in the game. It has a longer cooldown, but as long as it’s managed properly, it’s an ability that players can consistently rely on for a leg up in combat, or as a get-out-of-jail-free card in sticky situations. Plus, it’s especially effective when used in tandem with Crucio and Imperio, which inflict the Cursed status onto targets for extra damage.

The only real downside to using Avada Kedavra in Hogwarts Legacy is that it makes no sense in relation to the game’s protagonist. Based on the way the fifth-year character acts throughout the story, some unsavory actions and dialogue may start to seem over-the-top or out of place. But out of all the Hogwarts Legacy choices that matter, becoming evil or practicing the Unforgivable Curses shockingly aren’t among them. Thus, players who aren’t scared to walk along the dark side will only benefit from using Avada Kedavra in Hogwarts Legacy.
