Super Mario Bros Movie Plumbing Commercial Is Perfect Marketing

[ad_1]

The Super Mario Bros. Movie receives an animation depicting Mario and Luigi’s plumbing commercial, resulting in a perfect piece of marketing.

Chris Pratt’s Mario and Charlie Day’s Luigi show off their business skills in a new retro-inspired plumbing commercial promoting The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Pratt and Day join Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, and Seth Rogen in bringing the world of the Mushroom Kingdom to life in Illumination’s adaptation of Nintendo’s iconic video game franchise. In The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Mario is transported to a Mushroom Kingdom under siege, as Black’s Bowser and his armies set out to take control of the colorful world, leaving the plumber as the only person left to stop him.

In a video shared by Illumination, Mario and Luigi create a retro-inspired commercial for their humble plumbing business in a short animation set before the pair are stranded in the Mushroom Kingdom in The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

The commercial is not only stylized to make it seem like a dated videotape with low-quality audio and video, but also features a new rendition of “The Mario Rap”. The song was originally performed by Lou Albano and Danny Wells as the theme song for the beloved The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie Will Be Full Of Video Game Callbacks

Super Mario racing on Rainbow Road in Super Mario Bros. Movie

While The Super Mario Bros. Movie is adhering to the familiar but beloved formula of the Nintendo franchise by pitting the plumber against Bowser, the upcoming film has already shown that it will feature a plethora of nods to the spin-off titles in the franchise. Alongside featuring the beloved vehicles and Rainbow Road course of Mario Kart, The Super Mario Bros. Movie has also incorporated a number of lesser-known characters. As revealed through merchandise, the Lumas of Super Mario Galaxy are set to make an appearance in the upcoming film.

Beyond characters and items from specific games, the Mushroom Kingdom of The Super Mario Bros. Movie itself has been carefully designed to feature a number of nods to the video game source material. Gameplay mechanics and obstacles including the coin-dispensing blocks and pipes are given practical functions within the Mushroom Kingdom, with the former being used as ATM-esque machines and the latter being used as a mode of transport in one of The Super Mario Bros. Movie‘s promotional clips. The result of featuring familiar elements in the world of the film helps further pay tribute to the source material while providing viewers in the know with small details to look out for.

The latest promotional clip for The Super Mario Bros. Movie just might endear Illumination’s upcoming movie to skeptics. The classic cartoon honored in the video helped gamers enjoy more of the plumber’s adventures away from their consoles, invoking some nostalgia among audiences. Plus, with the clip tapping into an older piece of Mario history, it will be interesting to see what other callbacks and worlds will appear in The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
