A new trailer for this month’s DC FanDome features footage from The Batman of Robert Pattinson’s titular hero fighting Zoë Kravtiz’s Catwoman. Pattinson and Kravitz are just two of a large ensemble cast that also includes Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Gotham City Police Commissioner Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone. The Batman will explore the DC Comics hero in his second year as a crime fighter as he tries to track down a serial killer by the name of the Riddler while also confronting the corruption throughout Gotham City.

The Batman hails from Planet of the Apes writer/director Matt Reeves, who took over the position following Ben Affleck’s departure from the project for personal health concerns. Reeves is bringing the character back to his early days, generally taking inspiration from 2000’s Batman: Ego and 1987’s “Year Two” story arc to better tap into the heart and mind of the titular hero as well as better explore his detective skills. With production having finally concluded in March 2021 after multiple COVID-19 delays, the film is set to hit theaters in March 2022.

With just over a week remaining until the event kicks off, the official Twitter account for The Batman has unveiled a teaser for DC FanDome featuring new footage from the film. The video sees Pattinson’s Dark Knight battling Kravitz’s Catwoman during a robbery. Check out the teaser below:
