The end is near for the Arrowverse’s longest-running series as The Flash season 9 is closing in on its end. Production is officially wrapping up this month in Vancouver, Canada, as the cast has filmed the series finale. Currently, The Flash season 9 is tackling the Red Death storyline, which will finish up this coming week. However, there are still several storylines coming up before Barry Allen’s time in the Arrowverse comes to a head. With The Flash ending this year, it’s the conclusion of the Earth-Prime side in the Arrowverse.

As The Flash season 9 is almost halfway through its 13-episode run, The CW has finally revealed details about the series finale. As reported by TVLine, the network has currently scheduled episode 13 to air on Wednesday, May 24th, at its regular 8 PM ET time slot. That means there will be a few hiatuses, with the first one happening after episode 6, as a rerun will be airing on Wednesday, March 22nd. At the time of this story’s publication, the title for the final episode hadn’t been revealed.

What We Know About The Rest Of The Flash Season 9

In episode 5, titled “The Mask of the Red Death, Part 2,” Barry and Team Flash will take on the evil version of Ryan Wilder once and for all. But while that will wrap up one evil speedster’s storyline, Red Death isn’t the only big bad that The Flash season 9 will feature. In the back half of the final season, Matt Letscher and Teddy Sears are set to reprise the roles of Reverse-Flash and Zoom, respectively.

Set photos have also revealed that Rick Cosnett will serve as The Flash season 9’s final villain. Based on what he is wearing, it appears the Arrowverse is making turning him into their version of the DC foe, Cobalt Blue. While it’s unclear how they will re-emerge, Savitar and Godspeed were spotted during the filming of The Flash series finale. In one way or another, the Scarlet Speedster will get to take on some of his biggest villains.

The Flash season 9 will also have several Arrowverse heroes returning for the final season. From Arrow’s Green Arrow, John Diggle to Kid Flash, XS, and Jay Garrick, The Flash’s swan-song season is not holding back when it comes to fan favorites. With only nine episodes left to air, the beginning of the end of The Flash season 9 is getting closer and closer.
