With Below Deck Down Under season 2 set to premiere on Peacock soon, fans are excited about what to expect from the new season. When the show premiered in March 2022, it ushered in another spinoff series from the Below Deck franchise, joining the likes of Below Deck Sailing Yacht and Below Deck Mediterranean. The series, filmed amidst the backdrop of the Great Barrier Reef, offered fans everything to expect in a Below Deck series; famous charter guests, boat romances, and drama.

Besides joining a host of other spinoffs, Below Deck Under also made history by introducing the youngest-ever captain to be featured on the franchise, Below Deck’s Captain Jason Chambers. However, after a successful first season, it was announced that Below Deck Down Under will return to the screen for another installment. The new season will feature some familiar faces, while also adopting and introducing new aspects to make it a memorable one for the fans.

Below Deck Down Under’s Captain Jason Chambers & Aesha Scott Will Return

Although the full cast lineup for Below Deck Down Under season 2 has not been revealed yet, Showbiz CheatSheet gave some clues about the season’s crew members. Fans will be delighted to know that two of their favorites, Captain Jason and Chief Stew Aesha Scott, will be reprising their roles for the second season. Aesha was featured on Below Deck Mediterranean seasons 4 and 5 as a third stew, before appearing on Below Deck Down Under. She is well-loved for her bold personality and fun demeanor.

Meanwhile, Captain Jason, who made his reality TV debut during Below Deck Down Under season 1, was widely praised for his performance in the first season. According to Showbiz Cheatsheet, Captain Jason recently appeared on Hannah Ferrier’s Dear Reality, You’re Effed podcast, where he teased about Aesha’s return in Below Deck Down Under season 2. He noted, “Knowing that Aesha was coming back … Season 2, we wanted to up the game a little bit.”

There Will Be More Challenges For The Below Deck Down Under Crew

While speaking on Hannah’s podcast, Captain Jason also spoke about the challenges he and Aesha faced during Below Deck Down Under season 1. According to Jason, the pair learned a lot from their hardships. “I think we learned a lot out of season 1. I definitely did. And I know Aesha did as well. So we did try and up the game as much as we can.” However, Below Deck Down Under season 2 will see Aesha and Captain Jason deal with a lot more. “We were thrown a lot more curveballs than season 1. So that’s going to be interesting to watch. And I think having the foundation after season 1, we really did well in season 2,” Captain Jason explained.

Captain Jason had a tougher time than most people during Below Deck Down Under season 1, due to it being his first season on a reality TV series as a yacht captain. Because of his role as captain, the production team didn’t disturb him with every piece of information, and he didn’t see much of the drama that happened between the crew until after the season. However, Captain Jason will take a lot of lessons into Below Deck Down Under season 2, which promises to offer fans more fun and drama.
