What Is Volkswagen’s Carefree Coverage?

[ad_1]

To help new Volkswagen customers ease into the electric and gasoline vehicle ownership lifestyle, the German automaker offers a package comprising services ranging from maintenance to roadside assistance. But, of course, sticking to a particular brand depends on how well the user experience is. Every vehicle manufacturer has a blueprint for ensuring that new and existing customers get the most out of driving their cars. For instance, Tesla’s Roadside Assistance helps tackle various situations using a plethora of solutions. While there’s a limit to what the automaker will cover, it’s reassuring for drivers to know that carmakers have their backs.

Volkswagen, like many automakers, has opted to pitch its tent in the electrification of mobility. Interestingly, a study conducted in June pipped the manufacturer to become the main player in the electric vehicle segment. That means overtaking Tesla, the current leader in the market. Currently, the VW ID.4 and ID.Buzz make up Volkswagen’s electric fleet. However, there are extensive plans to widen the lineup shortly. By 2025, 25 new electric models are expected to join the pack in a systematic attempt to topple Tesla.

While automakers are known to offer some degree of coverage for vehicle purchases, it helps to know what exactly is included. Volkswagen’s Carefree Coverage, as the name suggests, intends to help buyers enjoy vehicle ownership in most situations. Buyers of new Volkswagen models get Carefree Coverage, though services like tire rotation are exempt. The coverage consists of four key benefits: Service (either two years’ worth or 20,000 miles), four years of warranty, road assistance aid spanning three years and five years of complimentary access to remote access features using the myVW mobile app. Included in the roadside assistance offer for EVs are collision, battery jump-start, lock-out service, trip interruption benefits, etc. Meanwhile, delivery of a battery, service to unattended vehicles, and some other situations are without coverage.

What Drivers Can Do With The myVW App

Remote control access is a major feature offered by most vehicle smartphone apps, and the myVW app is no different. Using a compatible smartphone, the vehicle can be started, locked, or unlocked. However, VW’s Car-Net needs to be enabled during the myVW enrollment. There are also more advantages to using the app. For instance, they can receive frequent notifications of who is driving the owner’s car, where they are, and when it’s happening. This comes in handy in case of theft. However, standard text and data charges apply.

Also, drivers are updated on the vehicle’s health. So, if a repair becomes necessary, the owner is made aware and will schedule one in advance. Volkswagen ID.4 buyers can also access EV-related features like locating nearby charging stations, knowing the battery’s status, and much more.
